The village Bamanua, which struggles every year with terrible flood problem, is very backward and poor due to having a number of social, economical, educational, superstitious ness (Exorcism-practice of occult arts) types of problems. Among them we selected the problem of Exorcism because quite often it becomes very dangerous for the lives of villagers.

•.Generally in village areas there may be many problems and their solution is also must. But exorcism like dangerous problems should be removed from there as soon as possible.• On the name of treatment some TANTRIK (in general language they are called Ojha) type of persons tortures badly the patients. Consequently in place of relief the patient becomes more serious and occasionally he/she dies. But on account of illiteracy people do not want to go to qualified doctors .whereas they are easily available in their area.• Women and children are the easy victims for them.•Therefore following the principle of “learning by doing” we decided to aware the villagers of Bamanua through some interesting and beneficial activities for them.• Along with other challenges to make understand the superstitious women of village was the main challenge for us .

@ To aware the people in limited time of one week, we decided to organize rallies, role plays, medical camps by using hand made posters, hand bills, banners and self prepared slogans.@ We decided to involve Govt. Doctors and their team in this campaign too.@ We also decided to involve each and every villager in our campaign.@ Women and children will be our main focus area.

# Rally was our first step, in which enthusiastic students of Satya Bharti spreading awareness through banners, hand outs and raising slogans like, “Andhvishwas hai abhishap, inse bach kar rahana aap”, “Ojha aur jogi, paida karte hain rogi” etc.# Students were distributing hand bills among the villagers during rally having the advises that what we should do and what not with the patient. # Sticking of hand made posters on the walls of village was our second step.

• The most important activity of our campaign was health camp with the coordination of P.H.C. doctor and his team. Along with the treatment of superstitious patients Dr. L.B.Verma, the physician, P.H.C. Dhaka, advised the patients to go to the qualified doctors for their treatment in his address to villagers. He also told the importance of first aid box. All the patients were completely satisfied with the treatment, among them 3 patients were referred to district hospital.

# Certainly the above steps were very helpful to achieve our target of awareness, but the main task was to maintain its continuity. For it we formed a committee of villagers along with some students and teacher of Satya Bharti too. The committee will have to observe seriously these types of patients and their treatment. # For the continuity of this campaign the committee has taken an oath till the removal of this problem.# Dr. Verma has assured us that he will specially treat these types of patients of this village on every Monday & Saturday. He also assured us for his continuous cooperation in our campaign through his letter of thanks.# On our request, he promised to held a large camp in the village in coming December.# Along with above steps our team is full of zeal and enthusiasm because now in the village, no one wants to go to Ojhas for their treatment.
