…A day by day account of some special moments
in our colourful canvas of achievements.
April 1-15
· A group comprising 14 students of classes IX and X, accompanied by two teachers,
Rashmee Anand and Ashita Jhamb, visited Spain as a part of the very first student
Exchange Programme with Spain. The partner school, IES Condesa Eylo Alfonso is
located in Valladoild, near Madrid. A well organised itinerary, showcasing the most
interesting facets of Spanish history, culture and art made this trip a memorable,
educational experience for the students. The programme also included visits to the famous
cities of Salamanca and Segovia, known for their historical importance and artistic heritage.
The group of students comprised French and Spanish language learners who gained
immensely from this programme. The Spanish students are scheduled to visit India in
October 2016.
April 1-30
· The Interact Club organised a Book Donation drive called the 'Be My Buddy
Campaign' wherein students from all across the school donated their old books to give to

their less privileged friends in the society. The collection process was a success with 14 huge
cartons filled with books being collected. The books were donated to The Gyanshakti
Vidyalaya, Sector-93, Noida. At the school, the interactors spent quality time with the
children and interacted with students of class 1st, 2nd and 3rd. They also emphasized on the
importance of books and education, and encouraged the students to pursue their education.
Books were also donated to Apna Ghar Social Welfare Society in Sector-49, Noida.
April 7-8
· DPSN won 1 High Commendation and 2 Special Mentions at Zeste MUN'15, organised
by Ryan International School, Mayur Vihar.
April 8
· DPS Noida hosted the cultural
programme 'Jashn-e-Karvan' on
the first day of 'Udayan'- the 3-
day Principals' Conclave held
under the aegis of DPS Society.

other dignitaries from the DPS
Society graced the occasion. After
the show, a gala dinner was
hosted in the Front Lawns.
April 8-10
· Gayatri Capoor of class X was among 58 students from Delhi and NCR, attending the
National Round of the International German Olympiad 2016 for proficiency level
B1.This Olympiad was conducted by Indo-German Teachers Association in collaboration
with Goethe Institute/Max Mueller Bhavan at Bangalore. She won the 3rd prize in this keenly
contested event.

April 11-13
· DPSN organised DELF JUNIOR EXAM, for the second year in a row, in collaboration with
DPS Society, under the aegis of the Embassy of France in India. 145 students of French
from the DPS network appeared for this exam(A1, A2 and B1). DELF is an Internationally
recognised certification issued by the French Ministry of National Education.
April 12
· A one day Career Fair was
organised for students of

· To acquaint the parents of Nursery students with the school routine, an Orientation
Programme was held in the new auditorium of the school. The programme began with
lighting of the lamp followed by a welcome speech given by our respected Principal Mrs.
Kamini Bhasin. Thereafter, a movie on the history of DPS was shown with short messages
from eminent members of DPS society. This was followed by a group song and a Punjabi
dance performed by the students of classes II and III. A powerful musical drama
'Chandalika' reinforcing the message of untouchability was highly appreciated by the
captivated audience.
April 13
· To spread awareness amongst our young ones about the harvesting festival, Baisakhi,
an activity was conducted for the students of classes Prep, I and II. The children thoroughly
enjoyed colouring and decorating worksheets and in the process learnt about another
important festival of the country.
April 13 -17
· A Youth Camp was organised for all the Fit in Deutsch Toppers in which Pranav Pawar
of class VIII accompanied by Ms. Manpreet Kaur, German Department, participated.
This camp, organised by Goethe Institute, Max Muellar Bhavan, was an all expenses paid

trip to Samsara Resort, Jim Corbett Park where the students had the opportunity to see
German come alive through various interactive games and activities.
April 19
· A presentation of the
Astronomy Club was
organized for Class IV
and V students by Space

the seven activities
planned throughout the
session was given. The

participated in some of the activities that were a part of the demonstration.
April 22
· DPSN celebrated Earth
Day by holding a series
of events in school .
Students of classes VI-X

competitions such as
p a p e r m a c h e ,
sculpture, grafitti on
bulletin boards, tray
d e c o r a t i o n u s i n g
waste, posters with
slogans and rangoli on
the theme of "Trees for
the Earth". The unique feature of the day was tying 'Rakhi' around the trees in the school;
thus accepting trees not just as life givers of the ecosystem but also as members of their
family. The choir sang a song in the Special Assembly, 'The future in your Hands' sensitizing
the gathering about their responsibility towards the environment. The Principal, Mrs. Kamini
Bhasin administered a pledge to the entire school. To celebrate Earth Day, the students of
classes III to V undertook a Rock Garden Project wherein an area of the school was

related activities like

and paper bags, using

cloth bags. were conducted classwise by the students of classes Nursery to V. Other
activities like singing Earth Day songs, watching videos on Earth day and its celebration and
decoration of the school with banners and posters, generated momentum to the celebration.
· DPSN won the 1st prize in the Group Song at the Western Music Competition,
Rhydhun, 2016, organised by DPS Vasant Kunj.
April 23-24
· DPSN won 4 best Delegate Awards, 1 Special Mention and 2 Verbal mentions at RIS
MUN'15, organised by Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj.
April 24
· “Happy Streets”- a joint initiative of the Noida Authority and the Noida Police and
presented by the Times of India was organised. This event has been launched in Noida
with an aim to promote healthy and stress free living and provide the citizens with an
opportunity to reclaim their streets and connect with their community. Along with the other
schools and residents of Noida, about 100 students of D.P.S. Noida participated in this.
The students of DPS Noida put up a session of power yoga after which the school's western
music choir performed an original composition- “Future in Your Hands” Off street, the DPSN
students put up an engaging street play stressing on the need to conserve natural
resources.
April 25 to 28
· The movie 'Jungle Book' was shown to the students of Classes II to V at Spice
Cinemas. The students thoroughly enjoyed this classic movie. Later on discussions
were held in classes and values incorporated from the movie were highlighted.
April 26

· Mrs. Kanika Negi of the Japanese Department attended a conference on 'India-Japan
Partnership Dialogue on Language and University channels for Students Career'
organised by Japan Foundation and MOSAI, at India International Centre. The focus of
the conference was on the present scenario of Japanese language learners and to
strengthen channels available to young students who are motivated towards Japan and to
guide them on their career path. Eminent dignitaries, including Dr. Zeenat Khadar, Joint
Secretary, DPS Society addressed the gathering. The educationalists deliberated upon
how best to strengthen channels available to young Indian students who are motivated to
study in Japan.
· At the Interschool Computer Event called "PATH" organised by Pathways School,
Noida, DPSN got the first prize in Audio Mixing and the 3rd in presentation using Sway.
Ms. Preeti Vasudeva, Computer faculty, attended a training session conducted by De
Pedagogic - the official partners of Microsoft- on various technologies that are impacting
learning environments.
April 27
· 46 students of DPS Noida qualified for the JEE Advanced 2016 which is conducted for
offering admissions to all the IIT's.
April 27 - May 11

during an exchange
programme with the
French school. This
educational, cultural
programme included a
visit to Paris. The students stayed at the homes of French families and attended school too.
Their trip was an amalgamation of academics, cultural and adventure activities, that proved
to be an invaluable learning experience. The students visited various architectural
landmarks of Paris, Lyon as well as the snow capped mountains of Grenoble during their
visit. The reciprocal visit of the French students would be in October, 2016.
April 28
· A Spic Macay recital was organised at DPSN. Renowned Kathak artiste Monisa Nayak

presented a lecture

the students who were
mesmer ised by her
performance. She was
accompanied by Yogesh Gangani on the Tabla and Samiullah Khan on the Harmonium.
April 28 - 29
· The parents and children of
class Prep celebrated
Family Day. To begin with,
a welcome family song was
sung by children followed
by sweet messages by the
parents for their little
b a b i e s . I t w a s
heartwarming to see the
p a r e n t - c h i l d t e a m s
engaged in a collage
making activity and musical chairs. The children had a splash in the pool to cool off while the
parents enjoyed refreshments.
April 28 - May 9

· The school organised a Movie Show 'The Jungle Book' for students of class VIII at the
Spice Mall.
April 30
· At the Triveni-BHASHA UTSAV, organised by DPS Bulandshahar, students of DPSN won
the 1st prize in Laghu Bhashan(Sanskrit) and the 2nd prize in Nazam writing(Urdu).
· Mrs. Rachna Misra, PGT Biology, received the Sharda University Teacher's Award for
creating a positive impact on the teaching learning process.
