ION LOCATION

All convention events will be held at the Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center at 7 Hope Boulevard in Galveston. Nestled on the coast, the 242-acre resort is full of botanic scenery and countless attractions.

REGISTRATION

Register online at www.ibat.org/convention, or complete the registration form and mail it in. Checks should be made payable to IBAT. Please retain a copy for your records. Individual tickets and/or day passes may be purchased for some events.

CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations must be received in writing.Cancellations received on or before August 30 will be refunded in full. Cancellations received September 1-7 will be refunded less a $250 administrative fee per person, and any cancellation received on or after September 8 will not be refunded. Substitutions are allowed and encouraged.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Persons with disabilities who plan to attend these meetings and may need auxiliary aids or services are requested to contact IBAT at least 14 days in advance of meeting date so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Conference attendees can earn up to 15 hours of continuing education credit approved by the Texas Society of CPA.

DRESS

Dress for all convention events will be business casual.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Special room rates are available for convention registrants. A room block has been reserved at a discounted rate of $215. (The rate does not include tax or hotel fees, if any.)

IBAT’s room block cut-off is August 23, 2019. Rate and availability cannot be guaranteed after this date. Please note that space is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The hotel will not accept any direct reservations or cancellations; all reservations must be made through the IBAT office. All hotel rooms must be guaranteed with a major credit card number, and a deposit equal to the first night room rate per room will be charged to the account provided three weeks prior to arrival.

IMPORTANT: Because of the hotel’s cancellation policy, all room cancellations must be made in writing to the IBAT office by August 30. No cancellations will be accepted after this date; however, substitutions are allowed and encouraged. In case of emergency, IBAT will try to resell the room on a case-by-case basis. Please note the hotel may not be able to take it back into its inventory.

TAX DEDUCTION

If the purpose of attending the IBAT Annual Convention is to help you maintain or improve skills relating to employment or business, expenses relating to the conference may be tax deductible according to I.R.C. Reg 1.162-5. Consult your tax advisor.

The IRS requires a notice on all registration forms that informs the attendee of the amount of the registration fee representing food and beverage. We estimate the food cost portion of your basic registration fee is $456.42. Please contact your accountant or tax advisor for any tax advice.

Dr. Ray Perryman will discuss current economic conditions in the state, as well as his projections for the future. Trends and patterns influencing growth will be

He has always maintained longstanding ties to his community. Kennedy is a past president of the Feliciana Chamber of

Commerce, the Zachary Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Zachary, as well as having served on boards of small business incubator Dixie Business Center and the Lane Regional Medical Center Foundation.

Kennedy attended Silliman Institute, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University’s (LSU) E. J. Ourso School of Business and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU.

Like many in the banking industry, Dave Martin was an accidental banker. After early careers as a radio morning man, marketing director for an oil field industry supplier and a stretch working in the finance department

of a university research facility, Martin was recruited by a friend to join a bank. Specifically, he was hired to run that institution’s first in-store branch location. Two decades and stints as a senior bank executive and trainer/consultant later, Martin’s core beliefs about banking remain intact. Banking remains a people business, and organizations with good people win.

Martin has become one of the most prolific writers in the banking industry. His columns and newsletters are read in thousands of financial institutions each month. He is also a member of the guest faculty of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
