Road Reconstruction on Elizabeth Street South of Lakeshore Road

As part of the Bridgewater Development, Elizabeth Street is scheduled for reconstruction starting the week of March 7, 2016. Elizabeth Street south of Lakeshore will remain closed for the duration of the Bridgewater Development.

On Sunday, March 6, 2016 the 20th Chilly Half Marathon and Frosty 5k Run will be held in support of cancer care at Joseph Brant Hospital.

New Balance Chilly Half Marathon: 10:05 a.m.• Starts in front of City Hall on Brant Street and travels south

to Lakeshore Road,• West to Eastport Drive, • East in the south lane of Lakeshore Road to Burloak Drive, • Travels west on Lakeshore Road to Brant Street centre lane, • North on Brant Street to the finish line in front of City Hall.

Frosty 5k: 10:05 a.m.• Starts on Lakeshore Road at Brant Street, • Travels east in the south lane of Lakeshore Road to

Rossmore Boulevard, • Turns around to travel west in the centre lane of Lakeshore

Road to Brant Street,• North to the finish line at City Hall.

Lane Use The three traffic lanes on Lakeshore Road will be separated by two lines of cones from Burloak Drive to Maple Avenue: north lane emergency vehicles, centre lane westbound runners, and south lane eastbound runners.

Resident Access Residents on Lakeshore Road or on side streets have three access options:• Residents on the north side of Lakeshore Road who need

access during the race can drive west to or from the nearest side street when the way is clear of emergency vehicles

• Residents on the south side of Lakeshore Road who need access during the race can call VR Pro at 905-220-1785 or email [email protected] in advance. One of two event vehicles will be sent to help your vehicle through the line of runners.

• Parking will be allowed on side streets on the north side of Lakeshore Road from 6 p.m. on March 5 to 6 p.m. on March 6 in areas that don’t have “no parking” or “no stopping” signs. Residents can walk along or across Lakeshore Road to access these parked vehicles during the event.

• In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1.

Supervision Police will be at major intersections and traffic islands. Event marshals will be available at minor intersections and major multi-residential driveways to help drivers. Race notices were delivered to all residences, religious centres and businesses affected by the races.
