J.R. Grip-Tight Knot will not come untied because the end is tied by all turns of the knot. This means that the tighter the tension, the tighter the grip. Grip-Tight knots are far superior to Blood, Clinch, and other commonly used knots which actually have only one turn holding their ends.

The Clinch and the Improved Clinch Knots are the “All Around” knots. The strongest knot is the J.R. Grip-Tight Knot, but does take a little longer to tie with the grooved end. When tying the J.R. Grip-Tight Knot onto a plug or spoon, please be sure to allow the spoon to hang behind your hand (which is holding the tool). Then start your wraps with your free hand from the top of the grooved end of tool toward your tool thumb.
