Linear Modules Series GD-GSThe GD and GS systems allow linear motions with cost-effective, technically valuable and simple mounting solutions. The rollers ride on the precision shafts is adjustable according to the required application thus providing smooth motion under high speed and light loads, or great rigidity under heavy loads conditions. Such usage flexibility is the result of a perfect system alignment, but, above all, of the eccentric rollers accurate adjustment.A further advantage of these systems lies in that their components are unaffected by external elements like metal particles, dust, etc, discharged during the operation. Furthermore, being equipped with integral rollers with dust-proof covers,these systems do not require any special maintenance. .

Their main features are:

Linear Systems series GDThe GD linear system is composed by a guide rail and a carriage.The rail consists of an anodized aluminium extrusion where two hardened, chrome-plated and straightened precision shafts are inserted with H7 tolerance.Rolling procedure is used to secure the shafts into the guide rail.The rail maximum length is 6000 mm.The carriage is composed by an anodized aluminium (steel upon demand) plate. Four, two eccentric and two concentric, "V"shaped rollers with 120° opening angle are fixed to the plate. The standard systems codes and dimensions are listed in Table 1.Our technical department is available for any calculation or development of product versions that are not included in our catalogue.

Linear System Series GDS10The GDS10 linear system differs from the GD type for its compactness, small size and for the sliding under light load conditions. The system is composed by a guide rail and a carriage.The rail consists of an anodized aluminium extrusion where two hardened, chrome-plated and straightened precision shafts are inserted with H7 tolerance. Rolling procedure is used to secure the shafts into the guide rail.The rail maximum length is 6000 mm.The carriage is composed by an anodized aluminium (steel upon demand) plate. Four, two eccentric and two concentric, rollers,type RPC35 and RPE35, with gothic arch profile, are fixed to the plate (see p.23 Fig.32).

Linear Systems Series GS

Linear Systems series GSThe GS linear system differs from the GD system for the precision shaft fastening screw, the same screw that is used to secure the aluminium profile to the customer's structure. The GS system can be used with inward (Fig.3) or outward (Fig.4) mounted precision shafts.The distance between the two rails can be increased or decreased, which makes it possible for the customer to use the clearance between the guides.For an efficient system operation, it is necessary to make sure the two guides are perfectly parallel when they are mounted.This can be obtained by using a spacer as template when tightening the fastening screws.The profile sections are listed in Table 2. The GS system rollers are the same as in the GD system.The profile maximum length is 6000 mm.

Rollers for the Linear Systems Series GD/GS 10-20 The rollers used in the Tecnoline systems are made of the steel used for the 100 Cr 6 rolling bearings.They have a “V” shaped profile with 120° opening angle so that the rollers have two contact points with the precision shaft, thus providing smooth sliding and even radial load distribution. The “V” shaped roller show its advantages also in the product life, as the internal structure corresponds to the bearings with slanted contactdouble-row ball bearings.Hence, the rollers can withstand axial loads in both directions. Rollers in all sizes are produced with concentric and/or eccentric spindles.During assembly, first of all the operator shall lock the concentric rollers on the same carriage side, so that the carriage and the rail areaccurately parallelly mounted.Keeping the eccentric rollers on the opposite side, backlash must be eliminated and the system can be preloaded as required (See Fig.6).Table 3 lists the dimensions and the maximum allowable loads.

Supporting rollersRollers with cylindrical outer rings have proved very useful in some applications, and especially when it becomes necessary to compensate the lack of parallelism caused by the structure itself, or by post-welding structural settling. Table 4 lists the rollers' dimensions and maximum allowableloads (see Fig.7).

Driven Linear Modules Series GDMThe systems with driven linear modules series GDM are cost-effective and reliable systems for automated production cycles and,more generally, for handling systems.The wide range of driven linear modules with their standard or custom-designed components and fittings can solve the problems of travel ranges, velocity, loads, and, more generally, all automation related issues. The driven linear modules series GDM are composed by the following parts:

• Driving HeadAnodized aluminium unit with leading sheave housing and standard or custom mounting holes on both sides for the gearmotor.• Idle HeadAnodized aluminium unit with loose pulley housing and eccentric spindle for the belt tensioning.• Supporting ProfileIt is a special aluminium ribbed extrusion, with an internal channel for the drive belt and grooves on three sides allowingthe guide fastening, the sensors, brackets, stops mounting,or for junctions in case of > 6000 mm long guides.The GD series guide is positioned on the fourth side. It is equipped with carriage and belt clamping plate.• CarriageAnodized aluminium standard size plate, equipped with spindles with rollers and belt end clamping plate.• Drive BeltIt is a special toothed belt, AT type with 10 mm pitch (or AT type with5 mm pitch for the GDS guides). It is made of polyurethane, and reinforced with steel strands to increase its loading capacity. Additionally, slides with chain or rack type transmissions are available for particularly heavy applications.• Special ComponentisThe driven modules series GDM can also be equipped with:• Stainless steel shafts • Steel and custom designed carriages• Custom designed shafts for gearmotor assembly• Gearmotors adapter plates• Bellows• Production upon customer's specifications

Driven Linear Systems Series GD10M-GD20M The GDM Driven Linear Systems can be pre-set for gearmotor fitting, provided this has been specified on the order. Fig.11 and table 7 show the dimensions of the typologies. The standard gearmotors data, as well as the mounting holes diameters, quantity, pitch and positions are listed in Table 8. The transmission components data are listed, too. Fig.12 shows the dimensions of the supporting profile assembly points.

Linear Modules Series ILThe linear modules series IL are especially suitable when smooth sliding in combination with high loading capacity and small dimensions are required. They are composed by an anodized aluminium extrusion within which the sliding bars are secured by means of rolling procedure.The carriage is integrated within the guide volume and is equipped with three gothic arch shaped in-line rollers.The central roller is mounted on an eccentric spindle to allow the carriage preloading.The main features are:

Driven Linear Modules Series ILMThe driven linear modules series ILM are especially suitable when handling accuracy and compactness are required.The modules series ILM are composed by the following parts:

Driving HeadAnodized aluminium unit with leading sheave housing.

Idle HeadAnodized aluminium unit with loose pulley housing. The pulley is mounted on bearings and eccentric spindle for the belt tensioning.

Supporting ProfileIt is a special aluminium ribbed extrusion with an internal channel for the drive belt and grooves on three (two for the ILM32 type) sides

allowing the guide fastening, the sensors, brackets, stops mounting. The IL series guide is positioned on the profile upper side.

It is equipped with carriage and belt clamping plate.

Drive BeltIt is a special toothed belt, eithe AT type with 5 mm pitch (or AT type

with 10 mm pitch for the ILM65 guide). It is made of polyurethane and is reinforced with steel strands to increase its loading capacity.

Driven Linear Modules Series TLMThe driven linear modules Series TLM are used whenever highdegrees of accuracy, noise reduction and velocity are required in a handling system.The driven linear modules series TLM are composed by the following parts:

• Self-supporting profile• Carriage• Drive belt• Protection plate• Sliding system• Motor head• Idle head

• Supporting profileE’ It is a special aluminium alloy profile especially designed to integrate all the module components and to achieve high bending and torsion stability.Additionally, special grooves have been designed for the slide mounting or to be used for stops, proximity sensors, etc• CarriageAluminium made moving unit for sliding components (rollers, sliders, screws) housing.• Drive BeltIt is a special AT type toothed belt, with 5 mm pitch. It is made of polyurethane and reinforced with steel strands to increase its loading capacity. This type of belt allows:• High speed• Minimum wear• Low noise level• Positioning• High yield• Protection plateIt is a plastic strip mounted on the idle head motor.
