India Visa Application Guide

The India Visa Application guide will assist you with completing the India Visa Application form correctly,

saving valuable time and efforts.

1. Please ensure to complete your visa application within 30 minutes as the page is time sensitive and expiresafter that. In that case applicants are advised to keep a note of the Temporary Application ID number. Youcan use that number to retrieve the partially filled form to complete the application process by revisitingthe page again.

2. We recommend that the visa application to be completed with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome orMozilla Firefox. Apple's Safari browser is not recommended as it fails and many users cannot print thecompleted application.

3. It is very important that all fields are answered in English and that all personal details are written exactly asit is in the passport, extra important to remember there are no Swedish letters Å, Ä, Ö. Please use A and Oinstead (Å = A, Ä = A, Ö = O).

4. All dates are to be mentioned as following format: Day/Month/Year (31/12/2017).

Follow this link http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/and click the button '''Regular Visa Application', orange tab on left side. Clicking this button will open a new visa application.

Step 2Country you are applying visa from should be the same country you are living.Please select the India Mission. If you live in Sweden, choose Sweden-Stockholm. If you live in Latvia, choose Latvia-Riga.

Step 4On the next screen, record your unique application identification.

You will need this ID t o edit, save or to return to your partially filled visa application form.

Please select your visa type. Please select the "purpose" carefully as the documents for each visa type is different and varies accordingly. For example, tourism will ask about destination details, for Business visa the visiting company details are required, etc.

Complete all the required �elds (marked with an asterisk) on this page. When �nished, click "Save and Continue."

Helpful Hints: • Your Surname and Given name should match your

passport.• Do not use Swedish letters, instead use Å=A, Ä=A,

Ö=O.• Do not use punctuation marks. If your name is

hyphenated then use a blank space instead. Do notuse a period if your name has a suffix such as "Jr."

• Please mention Personal ID number on“Citizenship/National ID No.” Do not enter NA.

• Answer "Visible Identification Marks" with "None."• Educational Qualification select the level of

• Your "Present Address" must be your currentSwedish/Latvian address.• For ''Father's" and "Mother's Details" you must listtheir first, middle, and last name; and, you must listthe city and country of their birth.• If married you must list your spouse's first, middle,and last name; and, you must include their city andcountry of birth.

Step 7

Enter "Previous visa or currently valid visa details" Note: You cannot have 2 valid visas at the same time. While issuing new visa, your old visa will be canceled. If you have valid Indian visa in another passport, you should submit that passport too for visa cancellation.

Helpful Hints:

• Port of Arrival in India should be the city where your flight will land. e.g. Mumbai. Ifyou are not sure, please mention the city where you plan to arrive. Do not enter NA.

• If you do not have the details of previous visa, you may enter as below:• Address: None• Last Indian Visa: None• Type of Visa: Choose a visa type which you think was appropriate.• Place of Issue: Stockholm.• Date of Issue: Enter approximate date.

Step 8

Enter your Indian Reference information, (Hotel, Business contact details, individual inviter

details)

Helpful Hints: • Cruise and Tour clients should refer to the cover letter on their application kit for their

reference information.• General tourists may use their hotel information with complete city address.• Reference in Sweden should be close relative or a friend/coworker with complete

details.• The reference cannot be blank or filled with NA .

Step 11

Signing Your Visa Application—there are two signatures required at two different pages on the visa application form. First, on the upper-right side of the first page, in the box marked "Signature", and second, on the lower right side of the second page, on the dotted line marked "Applicant's Signature".

Helpful Hints:

• You must keep you signature within the box on the first page; writing outside the boxmay cause a rejection.

• Your signatures must match your passport signature.• For minor (children), one parent have to sign the second page of the visa application

form.

Step 10

Review your application for accuracy. If satisfied that your responses are accurate and correct, press "Verify and Continue". Press "Modify" if you need to make changes. Select "Print Form" from the next screen. The form will be downloaded in PDF format.

Helpful Hints: - If you need to edit your response then press "Modify" and youwill be directed to the first page of application. Your informationwill be preserved but you will need to redo each screen.- Post clicking on Verify and Continue the applicant are notallowed to make any changes as data is stored digitally on theNIC platform. Manual or handwritten changes will not beaccepted.

Step 9

Upload your photo following the guidelines on the page.

Note: Submission of a physical photo as per specifications is mandatory .
