Summer Placement Report 2017-2019

At IIM Indore we aim to create world class, socially-conscious managers and leaderswho help organizations achieve excellence. The AMBA accreditation for our coursessubstantiates our quality and brilliance while the improved placement season reflectsa greater trust among industry leaders. Major recruiters across various sectors haveoffered challenging managerial and leadership roles in several domains to more than500 Students from the 2-year PGP and 5-year IPM courses. As we continue to be thepreferred campus for many leading organizations, I feel happy to highlight animproved performance of our unique IPM program and the flagship PGP programme.

IIM Indore has once again proven its eminence among the premier business schools of the country with therecently concluded summer placements for 2017-19 batch that comprised of 543 participants (447 PGP & 96 IPM).The multitude of offers granted by industry giants reaffirms their trust in the institute and its legacy. The seasonwitnessed a highly commendable increase in the number of recruiters across multiple sectors. More than 150recruiters participated in the process.The average stipend for the two-month internship programme stood at 1.24 Lacs that maintained an upwardtrend as compared to the previous year. Highest stipend is 3 lacs and average compensation for top 100 studentsstood at 2.18 Lacs.The unique 5-year Integrated Programme in Management was immensely appreciated by the recruiters resultingin the students being offered niche roles across major sectors with the highest stipend being 2.4 lacs.

IIM Indore brings out students with T-shapedknowledge base who have awareness acrossdomains and expertise in deep industryunderstanding. The success of this is reflectedas Consulting continued to be the mostcoveted domain with industry leaderslike Avalon Consulting, Boston ConsultingGroup, Cognizant Business Consulting andPwC collectively recruiting more than 30participants. Boston Consulting Grouprecruited for 5th consecutive year from IIMIndore. New relationships were forged withcompanies like Acquisory Consulting,Backspace Consulting, Synergy Consultingand IMS Consulting Group who offered variousstrategic roles in this domain fortifying theirlong term association with the institute.

SALES & MARKETINGIIM Indore has always been a sought-aftercampus in the Sales and Marketing domain.This year was no different, with highestnumber of roles being offered in this domain.Apart from marquee recruiters like ABFRL,AkzoNobel, Asian Paints, Britannia, ConAgraFoods, Dabur, DishTV, Droom, EliLilly, GroupM, GSK, HUL, ITC, IIMJobs.com,IndiaMART, Lava International, L'Oréal, Marico,Neuland Laboratories, Philips, Pidilite, PrataapSnacks, SBI Card, Tata Steel, Times OOH andVodafone. IIM Indore also had first-timerecruiters like Bajaj Auto, Bentley Motors,Bharat Forge, IDBI Federal Life Insurance, RoyalEnfield, Shree Cements, TAFE and manyothers. Nestlé, P&G and UB Group returnedafter a brief hiatus.

IIM Indore has consistently shown its dominanceas the preferred campus for Finance. AmericanExpress, Axis Bank, CIMB, Credit Suisse, CRISIL,D. E. Shaw, Deutsche Bank, Edelweiss, EY, FidelityInvestments, General Electric, Goldman Sachs,HDFC, HSBC, ICICI, JPMorgan Chase, L&T, Nomura,RBI, SEBI and Yes Bank extended a substantialnumber of offers. Front-end Investment Bankingrole was exclusively offered by Macquarie at IIMIndore.This year, the institute saw participation fromfirms like Apollo Munich, BAML, Langham Capital,Puma among others. Offers were spread acrossdifferent roles like Investment banking, Equityresearch, Credit Analysis, RiskManagement, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Retailand Corporate Banking.

GEN MAN/ HR/ OPERATIONS

Aditya Birla Group, which recruits throughmultiple channels, came for its covetedleadership program. IIM Indore continued tosee industry stalwarts such as Airtel, Cipla, JSWGroup, Mahindra & Mahindra, Raymond,Reliance Industries, Robert Bosch, TATA Power,UnitedHealth Group recruiting this year fortheir leadership programme and generalmanagement roles.HR and Operations space has seen ahuge increase in the number of offerswith the participation of firms like Amazon,Cummins, ICICI, Sun Pharmaceuticals and L&T.New relationships were established withcompanies like Mattel, Puma, Piramal groupand many others.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTSIIM Indore oversaw tremendous success in thecurrent placement season. The distinctiveroles offered across various domains this yearattests the exceptional quality of the students.There has been a stupendous boom in thenumber of first time recruiters this year likeBentley Motors, Mattel, Macquarie, Puma andRoyal Enfield to name a few. Bank of AmericaMerrill Lynch, GE and P&G recruited after abrief hiatus. Recruiters like Amazon, GoldmanSachs, Google, HSBC, L&T, PwC etc. openednew roles, showcasing their trust and loyalty inthe institute.The placement season ended on a grand notewith unwavering support from the recruitersand the participants, opening up newprospects for the forthcoming years.

With a boom in technology and growing demandfor IT managers, IIM Indore has been the mostpreferred campus for recruitment amongcorporate giants.HUL and General Electric recruited unabatedly forits most renowned IT leadership roles. Thisseason also witnessed an increase in the numberof offers provided by eminent recruiters likeCapgemini, Fidelity Investments, Google, Larsen &Toubro, Media.net, Shell and Tata ConsultancyServices.Different roles such as Business Analyst,Development Manager, Product Manager, Quality& Process Excellence Analyst and many othershave been offered in this domain. Amidst the vastscope of IT, participants were well equipped withthe depths of technology & depicted excellence.
