ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED UNDER UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN
Plantation Drive:
As a part of series of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan activities in Hanumapura (adopted village
under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan), on 12.12.2019, the Indira Gandhi National Open University
Regional Centre Bangalore has conducted Plantation Drive, ‘Theme: One Student, One Tree’
in Government High School, Hanumapura. Good number of trees are planted in the campus
of the High School by the students of the school.
Interaction with Villagers:
The members of gram Panchayat & other officials have suggested to provide, self-employment
oriented /skill-oriented trainings for villagers in Kannada medium. They also requested to
provide free trainings for the villagers. They requested to provide two computers for the school
and one instructor to train the villagers.

officials from IGNOU Regional Centre Bangalore.

The Officials from IGNOU RC Bangalore have explained about IGNOU and interacted with
the students and other audience.

Interaction with the students:
The Officials of RC have interacted with the students, to identify the educational needs of the children.
Most of the children have desire to become the engineers, doctors, lawyers, police professionals etc.,
They have expressed that, do not have good coaching centres nearby.
Baseline Household Survey: The Officials of RC have explained about the ‘UNNAT BHARAT
ABHIYAN (UBA) Baseline Household Survey Form’ and commenced the Survey with the villagers
attended the function.

Visit to Elementary School:
The officials have visited the places in Hanumapura village and interacted with the children
of Elementary School.

Promotional Activities:
The RC Bangalore has organised an admission campaign for SC/ST fees free programmes at
Hanumapura Village. The Officials have explained the educational offers available with
IGNOU. The promotional material is distributed to the villagers. IGNOU study materials &
promotional materials are displayed near the function ground.
IGNOU Alumi
The officials identified that, one of the villager namely Sri HR Ramakrishnaiah, Asst Teacher,
GHPS Doddamudigere, Magadi Taluk has successfully completed his B.Ed degree from
IGNOU. (Contact No. 9480740356). He has addressed the audience and explained the
significance of distance education from IGNOU.
