FINDINGS• Since the joining formalities are conducted at the
same time as the induction program, some respondents felt that they were unable to focus on the induction part.
• The method of training was generally lecture with very little discussion, which led to a monotonous environment.
• The training programme at BLK Hospital is a two day affair and all the employees should be present all the time, leading to lose of work for two days.
RECOMMENDATIONS• The training method used should be changed so
that more trainee participation is encouraged.
• It is suggested that the joining formalities be completed before the induction programme so that appropriate training could be imparted.
• The above step would also reduce the halo effect.
• The induction training programme shouldn’t be a two day affair because the employee gradually losses interest and also the organization’s paid hours are not getting efficiently used.
• Management games could also be introduced to the induction programme to make it more interesting and encourage trainee participation.
