Implementation success

When the relatively easy decision was made to have Autoline as the business solution for the Goscor Group, it was admitted that the challenges of implementing the product successfully were enormous!

The success of the project implementation has surprised our CEO, Neil Wilson, who said, “I’ve never been involved in a project with so few implementation issues before”

The following companies are running on Autoline: Uvundlu , Goscor Group, B&B, Goscor Properties, Goscor Lift Truck Company – WC, Goscor Finance Company, Goscor Lift truck Company, Goscor Access Rental, Goscor Cleaning Equipment, Goscor Cleaning Properties. MPM is going live on Autoline in April and Goscor Rental Company will go on in July.

Goscor Cleaning Equipment’s (GCE) implementation took place in February and has gone well. All GCE staff were enthusiastic and participated in the transition Selva, Jermaine & Cindy look forward to keeping all Goscorians updated with success stories regarding this exciting project.

Jayson le Roux, MD, Goscor KLG and Kevin Miller, National Sales Manager, Goscor KLG, attended the Sullair Distributor Conference for Africa and the Middle East in Dubai. The conference was held to highlight Sullair’s new range of diesel driven portable compressors, discuss the new products and developments within Sullair and to see what the Middle East and African requirements are for compressed air and vacuum systems. The conference was most informative and numerous questions were answered. “I feel that our input will be most valuable to Sullair to develop Sullair as one of the top four Compressed Air brand names in Africa,” Jayson said.

DISTRIBUTOR CONFERENCE IN DUBAI!

Goscor KLG under took a project at the Vale’ Moatize Coal Mine in the Tete Province of Mozambique recently. The project was to supply, install and commission ten Sullair rotary screw compressors, Jemaco air dryers and air receivers. Vale chose Goscor KLG’s machinery largely due to the robust nature of the Sullair equipment and its proven reliability.

The project required all piping reticulation and electrical installations in the various workshops and laboratories for the new machines. Working in Mozambique posed many problems, but Goscor KLG’s Project Engineer, Collin Tyrrel proved to be most resourceful and concluded the project within

the stipulated time period and successfully signed off the installations and handed the machines over to the mine.

“The mine is very happy with the installation and the machines are performing very well in the harsh Mozambique climate,” Jayson le Roux, MD, Goscor KLG.

This installation was for phase one of the new mine and was a huge accomplishment for Goscor KLG with the final invoiced total of more than R5.5 million.

“We are eagerly awaiting phase two of the Vale’ Moatize Coal Mine,” Jayson added.

The Gosocr KLG team has successfully installed and commissioned Sullair vacuum pumps, compressors and in some cases desiccant air dryers at Clinton Clinic, Linksfield Clinic & Rosebank Clinic.

They are at present installing two Sullair WS1110 compressors, two DMD desiccant air dryers and three VS10-7.5 vacuum pumps at the Union Hospital. This deal comes to a total of R1.6 million.

Working at the hospitals poses many problems, as it is crucial that the air or vacuum supply to the hospital is never interrupted. That’s why temporary standby connections are made before any work commences to ensure an uninterrupted air supply.

The team had to develop a Lead/Lag control panel that makes sure that the load is evenly distributed and that stopping and starting the compressors and vacuum pumps happened in sequence. The

lead/ lag panel also makes sure that the machines sense the standby generator starting and immediately start all the machines in the event of a power failure. The copper tubing that is used is a special medical grade copper that has no harmful substances; the medical grade inline filtration used meets and exceeds international standards.

“The Sullair vacuum pump has no rival, there is simply no vacuum pump that can supply the same reliable quality vacuum as the VS series vacuum pumps. For this reason hospitals specify our Sullair vacuum pumps as standard equipment. Action! Goscor Rental Company is sweeping the stakes in Johannesburg. They recently rented out their efficient S30 sweeper and 800 Sweepers to Opel Astra as they shot a high profile advert to introduce the new Astra in the streets of Johannesburg. Goscor proved to be the winner, when every inch of Joburg CBD was cleaned and pruned by our impressive machines. A big well done to Goscor Rental’s Sales Executive, Manie Minie for sealing the sweeping deal!

In startling news… On the 31st of January, GRC’s delivery vehicle was hi-jacked in Chloorkop with one 7 ton forklift on board. Fortunately no one was hurt, but thanks to the quick thinking reaction of our delivery and tracking company Budget Forklifts – the stolen delivery truck with the forklift was tracked and recovered just before it crossed the border into Swaziland. Greg and the entire GRC team would like to thank Budget Forklifts for their fast response and efficient recovery efforts.

Keshnie joined Goscor Rental Company in September 2011 and an improvement in debtors’ collections has been recorded. Under the cultivating eye of Operations Manager, Greg Venter and Sales Manager Barbara McCarthy, Keshnie has become an asset to the Goscor Rental team.
