EQUIPMENT CARE

FINISHING OFFSwitch OFF and unplug the vacuum. Disconnect thehead, wand and hose. Empty the tank. When disposing of consumable materials, observe thelaws and regulations in force.Collect all the parts together, neatly coil the flex andgive the tool a final clean up ready for return, to HSSHire.

Always position yourself so you can control the vacuumswhereabouts while ensuring that neither the hose or thepower supply cable are under strain.Move the wand backward in straight strips across thefloor, working in a methodical pattern to ensure the entirearea is vacuumed.Take your time and don’t overdo it. You are more likely tohave an accident if you are tired or rushing.

USING FLOWMIX SYSTEMWhen your work requirespicking up light debris suchas soil dust or talcumpowder, grains and plasticswarf, etc...or to pick upslightly thick liquids in smallquantities, or to dry floors,slide the mode levertowards left. In case of picking up higher mass material such asrough crushed stone, metal swarf, thick liquids, etc...slide the lever towards right.

ATTENTIONWHEN PICKING UP LIQUIDS DO NOT FULLY IMMERSE

THE HOSE OR WAND IN TO THE WATER AND IFPICKING UP SOLIDS AVOID FULLY COVERING THE

HOSE OR WAND INLET.

ATTENTIONTHE MACHINE IS PROVIDED WITH THERMAL

PROTECTION DEVICE WHICH TURNS OFF THE MOTORSIN CASE OF OVERLOAD.

IF THE UNIT STOPS, WAIT UNTIL MOTORS COOLDOWN, WITHIN A TIME DEPENDING ON

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS.

Connect the plug to power socket.Now you can switch on theequipment. This vacuum has 2 powerswitches.Switch one and the vacuum willoperate with reduced suction power.When you switch two motors the

vacuum will operate with maximum suction power.

WARNINGENSURE YOU PLUG IN TO MAINS SOCKET FIRST,

THEN SWITCH ON THE UNIT

EMPTYING THE TANKThe machine is fitted with a float, when the recoverytank is full, this will stop suction. In this case, empty therecovery tank.

When emptying the recovery tank, observe the laws andregulations in force.

WARNINGWEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES WHEN EMPTYING THERECOVERY TANK. DISPOSING OF LIQUIDS CAN BE

DANGEROUS.

Switch off the unit and unplugfrom power.

WARNINGENSURE YOU SWITCH OFF THE UNIT

FIRST, THEN UNPLUG FROM THEMAINS SOCKET.

Disconnect the hose and take thevacuum to the locationdesignated for draining thewater.

You can also empty the tank bytilting it. Before doing this, makesure the drainage hose is on itsseat and the drainage cap ispresent. Ensure the red knobs are in thelocked position (down) beforetilting to empty it.

Disconnect the drainage hosefrom its seat, unscrew thedrainage cap and empty therecovery tank.

When not in use, store the equipment somewhereclean, dry and secure.

Make sure you know how to switch OFF the machinebefore you switch it ON in case you get into difficulty. Make sure you know how to operate this equipmentsafely and are aware of its limitations before you use it.Always transport, store and operate the machine in anupright position. Keep the unit’s air vents clear of allobstructions.Always switch off and unplug everything beforeattempting to service or adjust the unit.Never use this equipment for removing asbestos or anyother hazardous material or liquid.Do not pick up materials that could damage thefiltering elementsNever carry, lift or pull the equipment by its powersupply cable or hose.Avoid positioning the suction aperture next to delicateparts of the body such as eyes, mouth, ears, etc., while theapparatus is functioning.Check the equipment before use, if it shows signs ofdamage or excessive wear, return it.Do not try to repair or modify the equipment. If this toolcan’t do what you expect or fails to work return to HSS Hire.Use only the brushes supplied by HSS. Using otherbrushes could compromise safety.Don’t leave the vacuum cleaner unattended while in use.When tipping to empty, ensure the vacuum cleaner isswitched off.Never operate electric cleaning equipment or electricswitches with wet hands.Do not immerse the vacuum into water and do not usewater jets to clean it.

GETTING STARTEDNever use the The HSS Industrial Wet and Dry Vacuumuntil you have fully read and understood this UserGuide and the machine has been properly set up usingthe information it contains.The HSS Industrial Wet and Dry Vacuum is equippedwith Flowmix system that allows you to change thevacuum cleaner performance, enabling the user todecide for a higher air flow or a higher suctionaccording to the applications.Use Higher Air Flow when you need to collect dry andlight material such as soil dust or talcum powder, grainsand plastic swarf, etc...or to pick up slightly thick liquidsin small quantities.When higher suction mode is selected the vacuumcleaner can reach a 60% higher suction, needed whenthe power of traditional vacuum cleaner is notsufficient: for example when sucking up high massmaterial such as rough crushed stone, metal swarf, thickliquids, or when if necessary using very long hoses (morethan 8 meters long).The machine is provided with thermal protection devicewhich turns off the motors in case of over use. If the unitstops it will be necessary to wait until the motors cooldown, within a time depending on environmentalconditions.

To get started follow the steps:

This vacuum cleaner is designed to plug into a 110Vpower socket, so it must be provided with a suitable110V generated power supply or powered from themains via a suitable 110v transformer (minimum 3Kva toolrating).If the vacuum fails, or if its power supply cable or plugbecomes damaged, return it. Never try to repair it yourself.Regularly check the input cable looking for damages,cracks or ageing.Keep cables out of harm’s way, and clear of the work area.Extension leads should be fully unwound and looselycoiled, away from the equipment. Never run them throughwater, over sharp edges or where they could trip someone.Using electrical equipment in very damp or wetconditions can be dangerous.Always remove the plug from the current socket beforeundertaking any type of intervention on the vacuumcleaner or if it is left unattended or within children orpeople’s reach not quite conscious of their own actions.Before removing the plug first switch off the machine. When unplugging pull the plug, not the supply cable.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, use a suitableRCD (Residual Current-Operated Device) available from

HSS Hire.Ensure the Vacuum and power socket are switched offbefore plugging into the power supply.

Assembly the head on tank and lockit by hooks.

Connect the flexible hose into theinlet.
