Dear Partner,

The world is shifting. Politically, environmentally, socially, technologically – the next 50 years could very well shape our future on this planet. The next 10 will shape the direction we go. With these issues coming more of a focus for all areas of society, the Fifth Joint World Conference on Social Work, Education and Social Development (SWSD) 2018 will explore this emerging society through the theme ‘Environmental and Community Sustainability: Human Solutions in Evolving Societies’, with particular focus on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) laid out by the United Nations. These goals tackle the big issues of our time, and we would like to invite you to join us as a sponsor or exhibitor at SWSD 2018 in Dublin, Ireland, to align your organisation with these globally vital issues and the strategies being designed and implemented to solve them.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, at the press conference unveiling the SDG’s, said that ‘’We will need all partners to make this a success’’. Multistakeholder partnerships, involving government, the private sector and civil society, have been described as the “glue” that will hold this process together, and will be the only way of ensuring these incredibly ambitious goals are met.

There are simple sponsorship and exhibitor packages contained in this prospectus, but we would highly encourage you to get in contact with us if you have a unique idea to show our delegates, or indeed are not the type of organisation to exhibit at a conference due to budgetary restraints. Our goal is to facilitate advancement in our society through facilitating new thinking within the conference venue, and help it spread beyond the four walls once the delegates return to their respective nations – we will work to accommodate anyone that helps us do that.

We expect 2,500 - 3,000 delegates from around the world (primarily from Europe, Asia and US) to come to Dublin, and will mainly be from the public sector, academia, private organisations, charity workers, NGO’s etc. These are people that, through the work they do every day on the front line of social change, will subtly direct the way our society moves over the coming decades – we hope that you can help support that work and work towards achieving your own goals through partnering with SWSD 2018.

How many? 2,500 – 3,000 delegates. The 2016 SWSD conference in Korea attracted 2,400 attendees.

Who are they? Primarily practitioners, academics, educators, policy makers and service users from around the world.

Who do they influence? The SWSD 2018 attendees will be influencers in the public and private sector in the field of social work and development.

Where are they from? The 2016 conference in Korea saw delegates from 88 countries. We expect this trend to continue, with the majority of delegates coming from Europe, Asia and North America.

Dublin is the capital city of Ireland. The beauty of the surrounding country, combined with its maritime position, give this metropolis of Ireland an unparalleled and unequalled charm. VenueThe congress will take place in the Royal Dublin Society (RDS), Ireland’s largest events venue. Located in the heart of Dublin, the RDS is served by all major public transport systems and surrounded by top hotels.

The RDS is well serviced by public transport with both the bus and the city’s rail system (the DART) providing regular and reliable transfers to the venue.

Programme OutlineThe theme of the 2018 conference is Environmental and Community Sustainability: Human Solutions in Evolving Societies. The conference scientific programme aims to build on the successes of the previous world conferences with sub-themes built around the United Nations’ goals on sustainable development. Our discussions will consist of lectures, oral presentations, workshops, round table type discussions, poster walks as well as exhibition space.

Topics will include poverty and quality of life, social justice, rights and equality, community development, climate change and sustainable environments.
