WHAT IS SENSOPOWER-SANGROVIT®?EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT
Your success as a biogas plant operator depends on various factors, which you can influence
in a positive way. Besides being dependent on substrate quality, the chosen technology
and the fermentation process, the stabilization and the activation of microbial flora is an
effective and economical means of improving the performance. Our experience has shown
that the use of SensoPower intensifies the activity of existing bacterial population and
hence a gas yield increase of up to 10 % can be achieved.
The distinctive characteristic of SensoPower is the patented active ingredient Sangrovit®.
The plant-derived alkaloids contained in Sangrovit® are highly efficient, they are positively
influencing the bacterial flora and promoting an improved and accelerated fermentation
process.
Trials in collaboration with the University Triesdorf have shown that the retention time for
the fermentation of whole crop silage (WCS) can be reduced by two thirds through the
application of SensoPower (see figure).

MODE OF ACTIONTHE KEY TO SUCCESS
The biogas plant is fed with substrates, including protein sources of various quality and
quantity. The main components are amino acids, which should ideally remain intact during
the fermentation process and serve as building blocks for the bacterial multiplication.
The problem: A high proportion of amino acids are degraded by undesirable enzymes during
the fermentation process, which has two significant effects on the performance of the biogas
plant. Firstly, the destroyed amino acids are no longer available as nutrients for the bacteria
and secondly, toxic ammonia arising from the degradation adversely influences the efficien-
cy of the fermentation process.
SensoPower protects the valuable amino acids. Thus there is an increased microbial activity,
especially of the methane-producing bacteria. The fermentation process is also optimized.
A further positive effect of SensoPower is the avoidance of harmful substances, such as
ammonia and biogenic amines.

ACHIEVE A LOT WITH INTELLIGENT USE
The Sangrovit®-based product line assures an efficient and permanent gas production. It
encompasses our three different products, SensoPower Starter, S and Hybrid. Firstly SensoPower
Starter is used to achieve the desired active substance concentration. Then SensoPower S or
Hybrid is used to maintain the concentration of the active substances. Whether SensoPower S or
SensoPower Hybrid is needed in a plant depends on the used substrates and will be discussed
and decided with your local consultant.
The products of the Sangrovit®-based line are daily dosed by means of the delivered measuring
cup and put directly into the feeding system.
