Globally Measles is a highly contagious disease, and was once the cause for many child deaths globally. After the creation of a vaccine in the 1960's, the total number of deaths annually has decreased significantly.
United StatesThe United states has a relatively high vaccination percentage compared to other countries, but recent years have seen a decrease in percentage in several states. Without a high percentage of the population vaccinated, the country runs the risk of experiencing a Measles epidemic.
