INTRODUCTION We have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the 2019 edition of the SABADELL

SATELLITE WORLD CUP in WOMEN´S AND MEN´S FOIL which will take place on

October 26th 2019 in Sabadell (Barcelona).

The same weekend, on Sunday October 27th also a new edition of the INTERNATIONAL

OPEN U23 will be held, which is part of EFC U23 circuit but is open to senior men and

women foilists of any country. The competition is part of the Spanish senior ranking and

the U23 European Circuit, where it scores too.

The Federació Catalana d’Esgrima, the Club d’Esgrima Sabadell and the Real

Federación Española de Esgrima, with the support of the Ajuntament de Sabadell, the

Consell Català de l’Esport and the Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya, are

organizing and inviting you to participate in these prestigious competitions.

of the event (www.esgrima.cat/sabadell) once the registration is closed, which will be

one week prior to the competition.

REGISTRATIONS

SATELITE WORLD CUP Registrations must be done through the national federations at the FIE web site:

http://www.fie.org

INTERNACIONAL OPEN: Following EFC rules, will not be accepted registration the same day of the competition.

All fencers must register at the web site of the European Confederation

http://www.eurofencing.info through their national federations. (only the National

Federations are allowed to send the registrations of their fencers to the EFC).

Terms: according to the European Confederation regulation:

Fencers under 23: born between 1997 and 2005 (both years included). Must have a

European Fencing Confederation license.

Senior fencers: born in 1996 or before. Must have the RFEE (Real Federación Española

de Esgrima) license (it is not necessary to acquire the Fencing European Confederation

license).

REGISTRACION FEES The fees must be paid during the check-in at the venue. SATELITE WORLD CUP: 30€ INTERNATIONAL OPEN: 20€

REFEREES

SATELITE WORLD CUP: According to the FIE regulation for Junior World Cups:

From 1 to 4 fencers : No referee required From 5 to 9 fencers : 1 referee More than 10 fencers : 2 referees

INTERNACIONAL OPEN

International fencers: Will be done by national delegations From 1 to 4 fencers : No referee required From 5 to 9 fencers : 1 referee More than 10 fencers : 2 referees

Fencers affiliated to the RFEE: referees will be brought according to the regulation of TNR ABS from RFEE.

The deadline to book a referee in advance is October 23th. Missing referee’s costs 500€ for each referee.

Referees must confirm their presence the day of the competition at 07h30 at the

Directoire Technique. During the whole competition, they must be at disposal of the

Directoire Technique.

TRANSPORT

Barcelona Airport (El Prat T1) – Sabadell

You will have to organize your transport from the airport to Sabadell and back to the airport by your own means, trusting in any of the many taxi companies that offer transportation services around Barcelona. Catalan Fencing Federation, usually works with www.taxiecologic.com There are many others and they all offer good service. Do not hesitate to contact any of them. Also you have available combinations of public transport (metro to Barcelona + train to Sabadell) which is cheaper than the taxi service, but which takes a long time.

Here we explain some combinations of public transport:

Public transportation:

Aerobus + Train + Bus: It is possible to arrive at the sports facilities with the

following directions:

First:

Aerobus (Airport - Barcelona, Plaça Catalunya)

Then there are two options:

1) Train FGC S2 (Plaça Catalunya – Sabadell)

2) Train RENFE R4 (Plaça Catalunya – Sabadell Nord)

Taxi: official cabs in Barcelona are legally authorized to charge the amount that

appears in their devices. The length of the transfer from Barcelona to the Hotel

is around 45 minutes.

Shuttle bus:

No shuttle bus service for the competition.

BAR During the competition a bar will be set up for both fencers and the audience.
