Is the 1000 sq ms the size of the new house or the size of the plot on which the house sits?

The 1000m² refers to the program area of each villa. Actual plot sizes vary from 1200+ to 2000+ m². The remaining 72 plots will be distributed by lottery during the next site visit, please refer to the conference agenda provided in the confirmation package and available in the forum for details.

Who are going to live in the new houses?

Inner Mongolia has experienced rapid development in recent years due to its burgeoning economy and the current availability of its many natural resources.  In response to these economic trends many business owners have moved or are planning to move entire operations into the newly developing districts and city centers putting pressure on developers to provide first class residential districts that cater more to the cultural and creative aspects of social urbanism rather than the superficial amenities most commonly found in the Chinese market. Older districts have also accrued a strong population of middle class families that anxiously wait for newly developed residential districts that offer contemporary housing as well as meeting modern consumer needs. Potential inhabitants should be thought of coming from all backgrounds and cultures who desire to dwell in contemporary homes that offer quality spaces as well as affordability and most importantly offering inhabitants new possibilities and solutions to the current problems posed by today’s urban housing.

Can the houses be built out of timber and is this a material used locally?

Although it is possible to construct with timber, and is available locally, the leading factor in choosing building materials should be in respect to the budget, construction time as well as local construction methods and the current availability of local materials. Further discussion regarding bulding materials and local construction methods will occur during the next site visit….
