DEAR PARTNERS

We are glad to welcome you to the first meeting in the project “EU SCHOOL OF T-SKILLS & SELF EMPLOY-

MENT” and are looking forward to meet you in Avala – Šuplja Stena very soon.

The aim of this meeting is to exchange views, harmonize activities, develop strategies and coordinate

positions aimed at achieve the common goal of the project – therefore it is intended for the representa-

tives of your organization.

In the following pages we will give you the detailed information about your trip to Avala – Šuplja Stena

and back home, the place we will stay and work, and the program we would like to cover with you while

you are here.

Please, read all the provided information carefully and don’t hesitate to contact us with anything related

to your participation in the project.

About the organizer

THE EUROPEAN YOUTH ORGANIZATION FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION is a non-governmental, apo-

litical and nonprofit association which represents the idea of establishing cooperation between youth across

Europe, without borders, obstacles, hostilities, with the respect of universal human rights, and respect for

children and youth.

The goals of the Association are the following: promoting human rights and liberties, democracy, mutual

respect, respect for the rights of a society, contributing to security and development of the European com-

munity, unrestricted creativity and progress.

The Association is especially focused on:

Strengthening the consciousness of a united Europe without border, obstacles and hostilities;

Promoting human and minority rights and democracy;

Spreading the significance of different culture, accepting differences and singularities, the right to social

cohesion and inclusion;

Establishing international relations, contacts and sustaining cooperation with other international institu-

tions;

Our association welcomes everybody, regardless of sex, race, language, nationality, sexual orientation, po-

litical or other beliefs, social origin, financial condition or some other personal trait.

About the project

This project includes 10 partners from: Serbia, Romania, Greece, Lithuania, Slovakia, Turkey, Spain, Bulgaria

and FYROM, gathered together to implement the project "EU school of T-skills & self-employment" applied

by Youth organization of Europe for International Cooperation from Serbia.

Youth employment is a priority for the European Union. One of the biggest challenges that youth is facing

today is the economic and social crisis, a scenario that has had a major impact on the life of all European

youngsters, challenging them to struggle with unacceptable youth unemployment rates and the decrease

of quality education, training and job opportunities.

Modern, knowledge-based economies require people with higher and more relevant skills. Most employers

believe soft skills are important to their business and over half rated them more highly than academic qual-

ifications. There are five critical skills most likely to increase odds of success across all outcomes and which

employers expect employees to have: social skills; communication; and higher-order thinking skills (includ-

ing problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making); supported by the intrapersonal skills of self-

control and positive self-concept - the skills that will be tackled during the activities of project which are:

1. Coordination meeting 2. T-skills Training course 3. Self-employment Training course 4. Online final evaluation meeting Methods used: team building exercises, brainstorming, round tables, working in a pairs, problem solving

games, self - esteem building activities and exercises, role play, presentations, team building games of crit-

ical thinking, creative thinking activities, role-storming.

The first part of this project is reserve for improving transversal skills of youth worker, in order to become

a professional T-shaped person, who can successfully respond to the constantly changes of labor market.

The second part of this project is reserve for promotion of self-employment, entrepreneurial learning and

practical steps which need to be undertaken in order to become a youth entrepreneur. The both of this

training course serve improving of law basic skills of youth worker.

Aim of the project: Empowered, educated, skilled youth worker motivated to implement their knowledge

in order to decrease rate of mismatch between skills and jobs, who can indirectly increase a rate of youth

employment by opening their own business.

Project activities:

The project includes four activities:

1. Meeting of partners’ representatives - in Avala – Šuplja Stena, Serbia, 20/11/2016 - 23/11/2016. The

purpose of the meetings would be to exchange views, harmonize activities, develop strategies and coordi-

nate positions aimed at achieve the common goal of the project.

2. First training module for young participants - in Avala – Šuplja Stena, Serbia, 15/02/2017 - 21/02/2017.

The purpose of this training course is increase participants understanding of transversal skills and improving

their professional and business skills toward T-shaped concept.

3. Second training module for young participants - in Avala – Šuplja Stena, Serbia, 22/04/2017 - 28/04/2017.

The purpose of this training course is the promotion of self-employment, improving entrepreneurial skills,

empowering youth worker capacities towards self-employment.

4. Online final evaluation meeting.

First meeting participants

Partner organizations are responsible to select 2 participants for the first meeting in accordance with the

following criteria:

- Able to make decisions and plans in the name of partner organization about the involvement in this pro-

ject

- At least basic knowledge of understanding and using English language

- At least 21 years of age

- Motivation and willingness to actively participate in all program activities for the full duration of the

meeting

* Please send the filled questionnaires from the attachment for both participants until 30th September,

2016 at [email protected].

** Participants will need to prepare creative and interesting, 5 - 10 minutes long, presentation about

your organization and about youth (un)employment and entrepreneurship in your home country. They

will present it to other participants and will be able to use ppt or any other media like video, photos,

performance

Venue

Resort Šuplja stena is located on mountain Avala, 22 km from the city center, 24 km from the main railway

and bus station, 39 km from the airport Nikola Tesla, 6 km from the Avala Tower and 5 km from the highway

E-75 thereof.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES: Resort Šuplja stena has a multifunctional hall with 70 seats, as well as another

area within the restaurant Dom Conservation, which can be used for organizing various events with 50 seats

in winter and 120 seats in summer.

ACCOMMODATION: Within the resort are the main building for backpackers with 92 beds and a multifunc-

tional hall and Dom Conservation which has become a pleasant mountain restaurant above which there are

3 hotel rooms and one suite. The resort Šuplja stena has a with one double, two triple rooms and one apart-

ment located in the "House of Nature Conservation", while the Main hostel type facility has 2 triple, 4 four

3 six-bed, eight-bed 1, 2 and 2 with ten beds and twelve rooms .

ADDITIONAL FACILITIES AND SERVICES: room for luggage, A la carte restaurant with two beautiful terraces,

multifunctional classrooms where they can be accommodated table tennis, tennis courts, football, handball,

basketball, trails for recreation in nature and a playroom for children.

Facilitator of the first coordination meeting – Jelena Vukičević

Jelena Vukičević is one of the founders and Program coordinator at Biznisnova center for proactive business

since 2012. Responsible for planning, creating procedures and documents, monitoring, evaluation and lo-

gistic support. She is a Master of Arts in School Education, currently a student of Doctoral studies in Peda-

gogy, writing a doctoral thesis on the topic of Gender sensitive teaching. Has experience in applied educa-

tion research and high education practice, understanding and implementing of most advanced educational

approaches such as student centered and individualized approach. She is highly knowledgeable and skilled

in designing curricula, tailoring teaching and learning materials, supervising, mentoring and assessment in

education settings. Also, highly experienced and skilled at designing, developing, and delivering training and

consulting. Her areas of expertise include organizational and project management, leadership, teamwork,

communication and conflict solving.

Regulations on the eligibility and justification of project costs; way of reimbursements and payments

Travel costs: Only one-time round trip between the departure city and the destination city of the partici-

pants will be covered by the grant. Only the most convenient and cheapest means of travel (bus/train/car)

can be considered (economic class). The grant for travel costs is a contribution therefore if the costs exceed

the amount granted, the sending organisation and/or the participants have to cover the remaining costs.

The sending organisation and/or the participants have to pay the travel costs in advance, and the applicant

/ coordinating organisation will reimburse to them that amount.

Participants from countries who need to come by airplane (due to the distance), are obligated to contact

applicant / coordinating organisation and in cooperation with them to arrange plan and means of travel. In

arrangement with applicant / coordinating organisation, reimbursement to this participants will be given

on the same rules as others participants, as mentioned above.

Reimbursement:

All participants can expect to receive the reimbursement of 50 % of the costs from first part of the budget,

as soon as all participants send original invoices, tickets, boarding passes etc., to the coordinating organ-

ization. The amount will be paid at the expense of the sending organization.

Other part of reimbursement (50%) coordinating organization will transfer as soon as EACEA validates

interim report and makes a second payment to the coordinating organization.

Organisational support: Eligible costs are the costs directly linked to the implementation of the mobility

activity, such as accommodation, meals, local transport, materials, facilitation, administrative and organisa-

tional costs. The applicant / coordinating organisation ensures that the purchase of goods whose use would

exceed the period of the project won’t be covered by the grant (e.g. purchase of computer, office furniture

etc.).

2. Mobility youth workers. 1 : 15.02-21.02.2017

3. Mobility youth workers. 2 : 22.04-28.04.2017

Project started 22.08.2016. and formally is ending 15.11.2017.

After this date applicant / coordinating organisation, have deadline of two (2) mounts to finish a final report

and send it to EACEA, which has a deadline of two (2) mounts to validate a final report and transfer the

second part of payment for travel costs.

Please note that payment for reimbursement cannot be sent before formally ending date, and it means at

least 4 (four) mounts of waiting for Nacional Agency to validate a final report and to make a transfer to

applicant / coordinating.

Please not that applicant / coordinating organisation cannot be responsible if the reimbursement for

travel costs are late (if takes more than 4 months), we cannot influence on the work of Nacional Agency,

so all questions about reimbursement (if its late) need to be send officially to them.

Visa

In case if you need visa, you can let us to send you invitation letter. However, visa costs will not be reim-

bursed. Please, don't forget to bring your passport or ID with you.

Insurance

All participants are obligated to check if their medical insurance cover country where the project taking

place, if they come without medical insurance, all caused (medical) costs will be covered from the reim-

bursment part.

Remember health insurance is your responsibility, so make sure you have medical insurance. Also you are

required to have travel insurance. Please note that each participant is required to have travel insurance and

health insurance and it is not reimbursable as it is your choice with which company and plan suits you. Travel

Insurance (For participants from EU countries the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is advised!).

Currency

Serbian currency is Dinar (RSD); if you need to change money you can do it in the exchange offices. Here
