The Chrome browser was first supported in Infor WFM 6.0. However, attempting to output a reportin PDF format resulted in a blank page. This result occurred because Infor WFM 6.0, 6.0.1, and6.0.2 used IBM Cognos BI 8.4.1 for reporting, which did not support the Chrome browser.Infor WFM 6.2.0 uses IBM Cognos BI 10.2.1 for reporting, which now has limited support for theChrome browser. In our testing, the latest version of Chrome successfully displays a report in PDFformat using the built-in Chrome PDF viewer, even though officially, IBM Cognos BI 10.2.1 onlysupports Chrome version 21 and future fix packs.For browser support for third party products, see the vendor's documentation.

8 Changing any of the default configuration or registry settings to increase the amount of data that isdisplayed to the user may slow the responsiveness of the system.

9 Browser zoom is not fully supported on pages that are dense with information and dynamic elements.Depending on the complexity of the data that is presented on the page, changing the zoom levelfrom 100% can create misalignments.

Supplementary Third-Party Vendor Update SupportThird-party vendors are continually improving their software, and regularly release updates to reflectthese improvements. In order to help clients capitalize on these improvements, some platforms listedin the Infor HCM Workforce Management Product’s Platform Support Matrix and other tables in thischapter are eligible for “Supplementary Third-Party Vendor Update Support”.

Supplementary Third-Party Vendor Update Support means that Infor provides contracted supportservices to some platform versions. The versions that are eligible display “see note 1” in thematrix and other tables in this chapter. This support includes any patches or service packsrelating to the updated platforms subsequently released by the applicable vendor. The list ofplatforms eligible for Supplementary Third-Party Vendor Update Support may be updated from time totime at Infor’s discretion.

Third party dependenciesSupplementary Third-Party Vendor Update Support eligibility is based upon each vendor’s statedcompatibility of various platforms. Infor cannot resolve issues that:

1 are caused by an incompatibility between the platform and another third party component (forexample, a specific version of database may have a known issue with a specific version of theoperating system).

2 can only be reproduced on a higher patch or service pack version of a platform component, as theissue is probably the result of a regression in the vendor’s platform component.

Testing and environment availabilityInfor may not test all patch or service packs and may not have an environment immediately availablewith the exact patch version following a vendor release of such patch or service pack. As such, anenvironment may not be available to reproduce a specific reported support service incident. Associating Clock Swipes with an IP AddressFor cloud-based deployments of Workforce Management where ETM or Infor Workforce Mobility areused to collect employee swipes, employees can swipe from any location that is connected to theinternet, even if they are not physically in the workplace. To prevent employee swipes from unauthorizedlocations (for instance, on their way to work), WFM requires additional Oracle WebLogic configurationto capture the IP address of an employee swipe.

Presenting only Employee Assigned Jobs on the ClockYou can now change the behavior of the 8000 Series clock to only display jobs that have been explicitlyassigned to the employee in WFM by setting the employeejob.enabled property in the clock’ssettings.conf file to a value of true.

Clock Validation Rule for ETMTo prevent employee swipes from unauthorized locations (for instance, on their way to work), a clockIP validation rule will validate whether a clock swipe is permitted from the originating session's IPaddress. As a WFM administrator, you can create an IP Address Whitelist that defines the range ofacceptable IP addresses for clock swipes.

The workflow for setting this up is as follows:

• Use a clock IP validation rule that is associated with a reader type such as ETM. This is pre-configuredfor reader types in WFM.

• Create an IP Address Whitelist with the acceptable range of IP addresses for your employees.• Create an IP Address Group that contains all of the IP Address Whitelists for a particular reader

type. Reader types can contain multiple IP Address Groups which are used group IP addressesinto a logical set.

Synchronizing Fingerprints Across Reader GroupsThe employee's biometric fingerprints are synchronized across all reader groups to which they areassigned. If you are updating existing fingerprints for an employee, this change is also synchronizedacross all reader groups.

Deleted fingerprints are synchronized across all reader groups to which the employee is assigned.

Online/Offline Indicator for 8000 Series ClockAn icon on the 8000 Series Clock screen indicates if the clock is connected to the WFM applicationand working in online mode (green circular icon), or if it is currently disconnected from the WFM

Schedule changes for the next day are not reflected on clocksIf a schedule is created for the following day but the start time is the current day, the schedule nowreaches the clock in a timely manner via a DBUpdate.

A change history record is now created even though the work date for the shift is not the current day.

Static IP Configuration and DNS ServersThe 8000 Series Clock now has the ability to configure DNS servers when configuring static IPconfiguration. Two entries are permitted, the first DNS entry is mandatory while the second entry isoptional.

Replace Derby database with HSQL database in standalone WBCSHSQL database will replace the Derby database currently used by the standalone clock server. TheHSQL database is currently used in the embedded clock server.

• Upgrades from any release prior to 6.2.0 will be required to install a fresh/new instance of the clockserver.

• Upgrades from 6.2.0 to future versions will be able to perform an in-place upgrade.

The Time Off Calendar now supports the advance pay option. When requesting time off, employeescan select the Pay in Advance check box to request to get paid ahead of when the time off willoccur. The check box is only displayed when the advance pay option has been enabled for theselected time off type in the main application.

• Clock RulesThe Clocks panel on the homepage now supports enforcement of clock validation rules that are setup in the main application.

Note: The Clock IP Validation Rule is not supported.

• Time Off ApprovalUsers can now review time off requests and take action on them. This feature is based on the TimeOff Approval functionality available in the main application.

• Language LocalizationInfor Workforce now supports language localization with the configuration being completed in themain application. With the new framework, the same languages can be supported as the mainapplication, translation permitting. The user locale is now used to determine the language that ispresented to the user. This feature replaces the file-based language localization.

• SAML/SSOInfor Workforce now supports the SSO/SAML capabilities that were already available with the mainapplication.

Labor Forecasting and Schedule Optimization (LFSO)

Fair Scheduling moduleLFSO now provides a Fair Scheduling module for tracking schedule changes and reasons for thechanges, in your schedules. If your organization operates within a jurisdiction that has enacted lawsfor schedule predictability, then the Fair Scheduling module provides automation for applying theselaws to your LFSO schedules and paying the cash premiums to employees when required. The modulehelps you organization:

• Indicate when and why individual changes are required.• Pay employees the cash premiums when required.

Custom callout support for schedule costLFSO now supports custom cost calculations inside the schedule. This feature provides customerswith the option to include special conditions such as weekend overtime or holiday pay. The feature

Multiview Scheduler (MVS)

Book-off hover displayThe Advanced Schedule View (ASV) now allows users to view details of a shift that contains leavetime, by hovering over the shift cell. The new hover bubble provides many details for the various shiftsegments, as well as the name of the employee who is backfilling the leave vacancy.

Organizing unassigned rotation rowsThe Rotation View in the ASV can now organize the shifts from master rotations (MR) and one-timeschedules (OTS) into unassigned rows in each rotation group and separately from the rest of theunassigned shifts.

Previously in the ASV, unassigned shifts from MRs and OTSs were organized together with otherunassigned shifts from book-offs and other processes. In organizations where the workforce is heavilyscheduled using MRs and OTSs, there is a need to be able to visually distinguish shifts from unassignedrows and unassigned shifts from book-offs and other processes.

Mass editing shiftsThe ASV Mass Edit mode now allows users to select multiple shifts, perform detailed edits in each ofthe selected shifts, and submit the changes, in a single transaction.

Shift cell highlightASV now highlights shift cells that contain a mixture of activity types such as ON, TIME OFF, and OFF,with different colors. Previously, the color turquoise was used when a shift contained multiple activities.

Default shift edit mode in ASVThe Shift Edit mode in ASV can now be configured with a global default. The default can be configuredto any of the three modes: Simple Edit, Detail Edit, or Mass Edit.

Editing unassigned shiftsThe ASV and the STC now allow users to make edits to unassigned shifts without the requirement toassign the shifts. The edits are saved to the unassigned shifts, and shifts remain unassigned.

Previously, unassigned shifts could not be modified in the ASV or the STC without assigning an employeeat the same time.

Editing booked off shiftsBooked off segments of shifts in the ASV and STC can now be edited. The only restriction is that thenet result of the edits do not extend or shorten the overall booked off time. This enhancement providesorganizations with the flexibility to manage leaves via the ASV and STC.

Previously, only the work segments of shifts could be modified.

Employee contact card in Relief Calling AreaThe Relief Calling Area (RCA) now uses the standard Employee Contact Card as the hover for employeedetails. The contact card provides flexibility in configuration and security localization.

Previously, a non-standard hover was used for providing employee details.

Indicator for modified shiftsThe ASV now uses a symbol to indicate that shifts have been modified. The symbol provides at-a-glancevisibility for shifts that have been modified.

Showing shift labels in place of leave codes in booked off shiftsASV shift cells can now be configured to display a shift label or a leave code. Each leave code can beconfigured separately. Some leave codes can continue to be shown in shift cells. Other shift cells cancontinue to show the shift label. In either configuration, the Activity display option always displays theactivity of the shift, regardless of the leave code configuration.

Previously, shifts that were fully booked off with a single leave code showed the leave code in the ASVshift cell, in place of the shift label.

Daily Publishing task enhancementsThe Daily Publish Task can now process all the MRs in the system in a single transaction. As a result,organizations only need to execute the Daily Publish Task once a day, instead of many times per day.This enhancement also ensures that all MRs are processed every day even if there are a large numberof MRs in the system.

Previously, the Daily Publish Task processed one MR at a time. However, with this processing methodif the number of MRs became very large, the Daily Publish Task may not be able to publish all the MRsfor a given day.

Associating day parts to shiftsShifts can now be associated to a team's day parts. The association can be configured as a date-effectivemodification. For shifts that are inherited by child teams in a team hierarchy, the child teams that donot share the same day part definition can override the parent team's day parts.

This exception-based model minimizes the maintenance overhead, while providing the maximumflexibility for using different day parts in different parts of the team hierarchy. As a result, the schedulecoverage presentation has been enhanced to provide visibility into day-part-based workload fulfillment.This enhancement is applied to MR, OTS, ASV, and STC.

Converting retained shifts to ad-hoc shiftsIn ASV a retained shift can now be converted to an ad-hoc shift. When a backfilled booked off shift iscancelled, the relief employee's shift enters an "Action Required" (AR) status. Then line managersmust decide if the relief employee should still work the shift. If the decision is to continue to work thisadditional shift, the shift is "retained". As part of this retaining process, the shift is converted to anad-hoc shift. This ad-hoc shift's activity is set to the activity from the shift label's original configuration.

Daily Timesheet enhancements for clocksThe Daily Timesheet includes these enhancements for the recording and displaying of clocks:

• To simplify the recording of non-ON/OFF clocks on the timesheet, you can now define clock presets.Clock presets combine a clock type and optional clock data that is automatically included on thetimesheet.

• For customers that use a clocking sequence other than ON, OFF..., you can now define your owndefault clock sequence by leveraging clock presets. When a clock is entered on the timesheet, thedefault preset for the next clock is set to the next value in the defined sequence.

• For customers that record a high number of clocks each day, you can now configure the timesheetto hide non-ON/OFF clocks by default. When viewing timesheets, users can toggle a control to showall clocks (expand view) or show only ON/OFF clocks (collapse view).

Fair Scheduling moduleThe Fair Scheduling module is designed to help organizations satisfy the legal requirements of fairscheduling (schedule predictability) laws. These laws govern how employees are reimbursed forlast-minute schedule changes.

• Capture incidents when schedules are modified within a specified time threshold.• Indicate why individual changes were made, and when the employee was notified.• Pay employees mandated premiums when situations so dictate.

Guarantees Plus RuleThe Guarantees Plus Rule has been enhanced to provide a guaranteed earnings option in addition tothe guaranteed hours feature that is currently available.

For example, some state wage and hour laws provide employees with an extra provisional "bonushour" of pay under certain work situations (for example, split shifts). You can configure the rule to payemployees who work under these predefined conditions at least a monetary amount equal to the totalamount of hours worked at the minimum wage plus one bonus hour paid at the minimum wage. If theemployee earns monies in excess of the minimum wage rate, those additional earnings can be usedto offset the extra amount that is owed to the employee.

Labor shortcutsTo make it easier to apply and control labor-related changes, you can create labor shortcuts. A laborshortcut defines the labor metric fields that are updated when the shortcut is used. For example, ashortcut can be used to change the job, project, department, and docket values of a work detailsimultaneously. When used in conjunction with the Apply Pay Rates Rule, a shortcut can also alter thepay rate for the period covered by the shortcut.

Using a new override type, users with sufficient permissions can select a defined shortcut and applyit to an employee's timesheet. Shortcuts can be applied to an entire day or for a specific set of timeson a day.

Time Off Planner enhancementsThe Time Off Planner includes these enhancements:

• Supervisors are now notified when time off requests are no longer pending.For example, a team designates the Supervisor role as a virtual role and assigns two users assupervisors to the team. When a request is submitted, both supervisors are notified of the pendingrequest. If one of the supervisors then approves or denies the request, the other supervisor receivesa notification that the request was acted upon and is no longer pending.

• Route notifications of time off requests to different roles, depending on the time off type.For example, you can route notifications for vacation requests to a supervisor and maternity leaverequests to an HR administrator.

• Limit the ability to act upon time off requests to specific roles, depending on the time off type.For example, you can limit the approval/denial of vacation requests to only supervisors and sickrequests to only managers.

This chapter describes some important changes to pay rules and Payroll Close.

Changes to the Authorize RulePOST-2592

PreviouslyThe rule erroneously only considered an employee's first shift time as "in schedule". That meant thatan employee who recorded work time within their second shift would be considered to be working "outof schedule". If the rule was configured to unauthorize such work time, the day would be unauthorized.

NowThe rule correctly identifies each shift's times as being "in schedule" and times not covered by theshifts as unscheduled time. Recorded work time will only be considered as "out of schedule" if it fallsoutside of any of the employee's scheduled times on the particular day.

ImpactIf you do not use split shifts, nothing will change. If you a) use split shifts, b) use the Authorize Rule(not to be confused with the Unauthorize Rule), and c) configure the Authorize Rule to unauthorize atimesheet when specific time codes are recorded during unscheduled times, then the second shifttime that was erroneously unauthorized will no longer be so.

Adjustments no longer exported twice when using anadjustment offsetPOST-3492

PreviouslyWhen a pay group was set up with an adjustment offset greater than zero, adjustments posted duringthe offset day of the previous pay period, but before the first export was performed, could be exportedagain during the next payroll export.Example scenario:

• Pay group adjustment offset: 1 day• Past pay period: November 23 to November 29 (offset day November 30)• Current pay period: November 30 to December 6 (offset day December 7)• Past pay period export date: November 30 14:40

Adjustments for the past pay period posted during the day on November 30, but before the export wasperformed at 14:40, will also be exported during the current pay period's export. This results in duplicateadjustment records being ultimately passed to the payroll system (during the initial export and thesubsequent one).

NowAdditional checks have been introduced to consider both the export date and time when determiningwhich adjustment records are included in the subsequent run.

ImpactIf your implementation does not use the adjustment offset, then there is no change. If you do use anoffset and have experienced issues with adjustments you made to previous timesheets almostimmediately after the initial export, you will find that the duplicate adjustments are no longer includedin the subsequent export file.

Changes to the Holiday Reversal RulePOST-3531

PreviouslyWhen the PRIOR_OVERRIDE_ACTION registry parameter is set to CANCEL_ALL orCANCEL_CURRENT, the Holiday Assignment task cancels (but does not delete) previous holidayoverrides and assigns new holiday overrides. This works as expected, but when holidays are reversed,the Holiday Reversal Rule ignores the status of holiday overrides and reverses both canceled andactive holiday overrides. The end result is that a day of holiday pay is reversed for each holiday thatwas ever assigned to the employee on that day.For accurate holiday pay data, you must set the DELETE_PRIOR_OVERRIDES registry parameterto true so that all previous holiday overrides are deleted.

NowIf multiple holiday overrides have been applied to the same day for an employee, then only the mostrecently applied holiday is considered by the rule.

ImpactThe Holiday Reversal Rule can deduct holiday pay when an employee does not work their nextscheduled shift after a holiday (or is late for that shift). If you do not use the Holiday Reversal Rule,

If you do use the Holiday Reversal Rule, the rule correctly reverses the active holidayoverride when the conditions of the rule are met. Holiday pay is calculated correctly whenDELETE_PRIOR_OVERRIDES is set to false for auditing purposes.

Changes to the Unauthorize RulePOST-3476

PreviouslyThe Unauthorize Rule did not always re-unauthorize timesheets that had been previously authorizedand subsequently edited. Specifically, some edits (deleting details and adding premiums) were notrecognized by the rule, which meant that the rule was not always re-unauthorizing the day even afterthese types of edits occurred. In addition, the original design of the rule was to only re-unauthorize ifthe user performing the second override was different than the user who had authorized the day tobegin with (the idea being that users changing a timesheet they had already authorized were implicitlyauthorizing their own changes). This created some confusion and perceived inconsistencies aboutthe rule's actions.

NowThe rule recognizes any edits made to the timesheet, including deleting details and adding premiums,as eligible reasons to re-unauthorize (provided the rule is configured to do so). The rule also nowincludes a parameter that lets customers define whether they want the system to re-unauthorize orignore edits that were performed by the same user who performed the authorization. This parameteris 'unchecked' by default, meaning any edit will re-unauthorize regardless of who performs the edit.

ImpactIf users have been making edits that were originally missed by the Unauthorize Rule, they will now beproperly re-unauthorized. To ignore edits made by the same user that approved the day initially, youcan select the new parameter within the rule.

Security Updates in WFM ModulesThis section outlines security updates that were completed in this release of WFM.

AJAX calls to WFM and Cross-site Scripting AttacksImpact on WFM Users: As part of WFM's input validation feature, AJAX calls to the WFM applicationnow block the < and > characters to prevent cross-site scripting attacks. These characters are alreadyblocked for HTTP requests on legacy pages in WFM.

This change should have no impact on WFM users as long as data does not contain < or >.

General Updates to the WFM Security LayerImpact on WFM Users: As part of an on-going effort to strengthen security for the WFM solution, thisrelease of WFM has undergone a rigorous security review in code analysis (dynamic and static) andpenetration testing using the latest industry security scanning tools. As part of this effort, a number ofchanges have been made in the various modules of the WFM solution to address potential securityvulnerabilities that were identified by the security tools. All changes have undergone rigorous QAregression testing.

Other than strengthened security, this change has a minimal impact on WFM users. There should beno impact on existing data or custom code.
