Information about the upcoming pedagogical evaluation

The evaluators at the education department in Stockholm’s district work both with the

municipal and private schools in the city. One of our evaluation models has a focus on

instruction and learning. In the model we focus on the following:

Effective instruction, defined by the criteria of the national curriculum, district’s

departmental plan, current research and proven experience.

A school culture with well-developed cooperation and good communication with

primary focus on student learning and well-being

Procedure and conditions for the development of the quality of the above two

points

We will be visiting six classes within grades 4-6 in both the bilingual and those that use

Swedish as the language of instruction. After the visits, we will give feedback to the

teachers we have visited, either after the class or after school. Our plan is to follow every

class during one day.

Finally we will be meeting with the group of teachers where we will discuss teaching and

instruction.

The results of the evaluation of the strengths and possible development areas will be given

to the Principal / management team and Primary school director.

We look forward to visiting Johannes School on 21-22 October and on 2 November.
