WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Creativity and cuisine come together in the annual extravaganza that is the Edible Fashion Awards. Now into our 13th year, the Awards invite entrants to create an innovative design made from edible food items, imitation food

items or food packaging.

The Awards are open to New Zealand residents from the age of five upwards. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced designer, the Edible

Fashion Awards are your chance to dream big and create something unique. The Awards can be entered as an individual or team and we encourage participation from school groups. We are very excited this year to have Keryn Whitney, winner of Edible’s 2017 Supreme Award and eight-time

WOW finalist, on board in a dedicated schools liaison role.

This year’s theme is Peace, Love & Diversity and offers entrants the opportunity to draw from a broad range of design inspirations -

celebrate your own cultural identity or draw inspiration from another culture; incorporate universal symbols of peace; represent deities, mythological or other characters from famous love stories; be inspired by the flower power movement of the 60’s and 70’s, the pride movement etc. The options are exciting and we

encourage you to consider what peace, love and/or diversity means to you and to create boldly and without borders.

FINALIST CATEGORIESEntries open Sunday 1 April and close Sunday 20 May. No late entries will be accepted.

Enter online at: ediblefashionawards.co.nz

• Entry is open to New Zealand residents from age five upwards.

• Entrants may enter one age group category and / or as many open categories as they like.

• Designs must clearly reflect the theme - Peace, Love & Diversity.

• Designs must be constructed from edible food items, imitation food items or food packaging (new or recycled). Eg: designs may be made out of real popcorn, plastic corn, or packaging from popcorn. Edible, imitation and packaging materials can be used separately or in combination within the design.

EVENT RULES• Allowance is made for use of a base, but creativity and innovation in using only food, imitation food or food packaging will be highly regarded by the judging panel.

• Some help from an adult is acceptable, however we expect children to come up with their design concept and if more than a quarter of the work is completed by an adult, the design must be entered in the Adult category. We rely on your honesty and judgement to keep this a fair competition for all.

• Designs must not exceed 2m in height and 1.5m in width.

• Designers may model their own design or have another person model it for them.

• Judges’ decisions are final and no discussions shall be entered into.
