    DRUG DEMAND REDUCTION ACTIVITIES OF REGIONAL OFFICE NCR

    On January 23, 2016, a Drug Awareness Seminar was provided to mem-

    bers of NARIAG (Anti-Narcotics International Assistance Group), an

    NGO focuses on involving the community to fight the proliferation of

    illegal drugs. The seminar intends to equip the members of the group

    to aid them in their function and to mobilize also as force multipliers.

    Another Drug Free Workplace Seminar was held at Philippine Airlines which

    was attended by their system analysts and programmers. The seminar was

    conducted at the company’s Data Center Building on January 23, 2016

    which forms part to complete their current implementation of the com-

    pany’s own Drug Free Workplace Policy.

    On January 30, 2016, Information and Public Education Section of this

    Office together with RD RO NCR conducted Drug Awareness Seminar

    for the detachment commanders of Agilex Security Agency held at

    One Jeroma Place Building, Congressional Avenue, Quezon City.

    On January 30, 2016, Information and Public Education Section of this

    Office together with RD RO NCR conducted Drug Awareness Seminar

    for the detachment commanders of Agilex Security Agency held at

    One Jeroma Place Building, Congressional Avenue, Quezon City.

    On February 5, 2016, this Office provided lectures for the Anti-

    Illegal Drug and Drug Free Workplace Orientation Seminar of Philippine Christian Foundation located at Balut, Tondo, City of

    Manila. The event was held in their activity area and was attended by their school teachers, parent volunteers, security

    personnel and other staff. The intention of the activity is to

    orient the employees of the foundation about illegal drugs in coherence to the implementation of their conceived drug free

    workplace and drug free school program. A BADAC Functionalization Workshop and Seminar, a continuing

    project of this Regional Office, was conducted last February 9

    & 10, 2016 at Mayor’s Hall, was attended by participants com-

    posed of Brgy. Chairmen, Kagawad, Tanods, ADAC staff,

    among others. Topics discussed include: DILG MC# 2015-63

    Revitalization of the BADAC and their Role in Drug Clearing

    Operations explained by DILG representative; Operational

    Guidelines in the Conduct of Anti-Illegal Drug Operation pre-

    sented by PSI PAQUITO PAUL TAMPOL, JR (SAID Chief).

    Meanwhile, RD RO NCR tackled on Barangay Drug Affectation

    particularly that of Paranaque and the Most CommonlyVio-

    lated Provisions of RA 9165. The discussion focused on Baran-

    gay Drug Clearing and Drug Free Workplace Policy Program as

    mandated by the law.

    A Drug Awareness Seminar was attended by this Office address-

    ing the request of QCPD Station 6. Attendees of the event are

    the Barangay workers, BPSOs and School Representatives and

    Traffic Sector from Brgy. Commonwealth and Brgy Payatas.

    RD RO NCR provided lectures on NCR Drug Situation particu-

    larly that of Barangays who attended and most Commonly Vio-

    lated Provisions of RA 9165.

    Ms Joan I. Anglo of Information and Public education

    Section of this Office in her discussion on Drug Identi-

    fication and Ill effects of Illegal Drugs and immediately

    followed with short lecture on Rehabilitation Process

    Paulo Victor Daculla of RO NCR tasked to discuss the NCR Drug

    Hon. Edwin L. Olivarez, City Mayor, Parañaque City in a

    speech commending the initiative of the PADAC to conduct

    the event and meriting the PDEA for the support.

    Representative from Parañaque DILG tasked to dis-

    cuss relative DILG Memorandum Circular in relation to

    the function of BADAC to curb the presence of drugs.

    A Spiritual and Values Formation

    Activity was held at the PDEA

    Detention Facility on March 30, 2016. Information and Public

    Education Team of this Office together with a Pastor from Messiah Mission International Minis-try conducted the activity for the 11 detainees of the facility. The program consist of Word of God, a workshop on self empowerment called “Sino Ako” and a discussion about Drug Identi-

    fication and it’s Ill Effects.

    On March 4, 2016, Makati Anti Drug Abuse Council

    (MADAC) conducted a meeting and orientation among the officers of the city’s Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) held at the Makati City Hall Bldg. II. RD RO NCR together with the Information and Public Education Section of this Office attended and led the discussion on the functions of BADAC in their role in drug clearing operations.

    The Manila Peace and Order Council (MPOC) spearheaded an

    activity entitled Manila Anti-Drug Abuse Summit: The Great

    Launch for the Manila Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign to address

    concerns against the proliferation of illegal drugs on the city.

    The event run for five (5) separate days in order to gather all

    the 897 Barangays of the City of Manila

    A Drug Awareness Seminar was attended by this Office addressing the request

    of QCPD Station 6. Attendees of the event are the Barangay workers, BPSOs

    and School Representatives and Traffic Sector from Brgy. Holy Spirit Quezon

    City. RD RO NCR provided lectures on NCR Drug Situation and most Com-

    monly Violated Provisions of RA 9165.

    in observance of the Lenten Season.

    MARCH 2016 ACTIVITIES

    This Office participated in the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) kick-off event of the month long celebration of National Fire Prevention Month on March 1, 2016 held

    at the Quezon Memorial Circle Grounds. The event aims to promote the culture of cooperation among government offices and private institutions as well. March al-

    ways indicates numerous number of fire incidents in the country hence, BFP with this activity promotes awareness to lessen the grave damages due to fire.
