Please read carefully the following information for international students before applying at a German University.
Generality
As a general rule, entry requirement for admission at a University of Applied Sciences is possession of the university entrance
qualification required of a foreign student to enter the same type of an academic degree program in his home country. Foreignnationals in possession of German university entrance qualifications may submit these.
International students must therefore apply in steps:
1st step: Apply at the “ Center for International Students” (Studienkolleg Konstanz)
For an application at a University of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg, foreign applicants must have their academicqualifications evaluated and certified by the appropriate evaluation agency, the “Center for International Students - StudienkollegKonstanz”, located at the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz.

Application documents:
Certified copies of the original documents are essential for your application.Certification can be obtained abroad only at German embassies and consulates.
1. Application form2. Certificate of the university entrance qualification (Zeugnis der Hochschulreife: Bachelor, GCE A-Level, Baccalaureat,
Matura, Lise Diplomasi, High School Diploma, etc.), original (or officially certified copy) together with German translation.(No translations necessary for English or French)
3. Transcripts of courses and grades corresponding to the university entrance qualification in the original together with aGerman (or English) translation.
4. Certificate of German language proficiency (B1, obere Grundstufe; ZDaF, B2, Mittelstufe 1, ZMP) or if available ZOP,PNDS, DSH, TestDaF). When applying for the DSH or Studienkolleg Entrance Exam, the language certificate can besubmitted three weeks before the date of examinations if you hand in a certificate of attendance of an appropriateGerman language course.
5. CV/personal data sheet including education history (please print).6. A passport-size photograph.
If applicable:7. Proof of university entrance exam.8. Proof of periods of study (certified records, certificate of matriculation, exam results, academic records, etc.).9. Certificate of Assessment Exam (Feststellungsprüfung).
No documents will be sent back!

Certification of German language proficiency (Not necessary for courses conducted completely in English)All foreign applicants have to be very skilled in speaking and reading German to be able to participate successfully in universitycourses. Since nearly all courses are conducted in German, sound German language skills are absolutely necessary and anadmission requirement. Without a certification of German language proficiency the foreign applicants have to take the DSH2examination at the “Center for International Students”. Special information for Chinese applicantsBefore accepting students for the admissions process, almost all German higher education institutions require applicants to holdthe Certificate of the Academic Evaluation Centre in Beijing (Zertifikat der Akademischen Prüfstelle – APS). The APS evaluation isa constituent part of the visa process.

Applications without the original certificate from APS won’t be accepted by the “Center for International Students”. This applies alsofor Chinese applicants already living in Germany.
2nd step: Apply at the University of Appl ied Sciences Furtwangen
Only after recognition of your university entrance qualification and German language proficiency by the “Center for InternationalStudents”, admission through the University of Applied Sciences Furtwangen may be possible.
