One 250-sheet paper feeder, a 50-sheet multi-purpose tray and a 50-sheet double-sided document processor provide effective standard paper handling features.

Extra A4 paper-feeding capacity

Network connectivity

As workgroup multifunctionals, the FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP have standard network connectivity employing the highest standards for network security (SSL, IPSec). The data sent to the multifunctional is encrypted which means that in case of unauthorized network access the intercepted data will be unusable for the third party.

Paper handling

The FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP can have up to five different paper inputs, including the 100-sheet bypass tray. The 500-sheet standard paper cassette and three additional 500-sheet paper cassettes create a total paper input capacity of 2,100 pages.

The superior 500-sheet output tray enables users to print the whole capacity from the paper cassette.

The bypass tray can support a broad spectrum of special paper weighing up to 220g/m

2.

Automatic and smart duplex

The combined duplex print and scan functions make duplex copying possible and allow users to combine several single-sided originals into one double-sided copy.

If the duplex printing is set as the default, the smart duplex function will print one page documents single-sided, reducing print times dramatically.

The 50-sheet reversing document processor comes as standard with both devices. When copying, scanning or faxing double-sided documents, instead of copying each page separately, the user can place the document in the unit and press the start button.

Both sides of the page are processed automatically.

Powerful Send-To functions

Digitising documents for document workflows or archiving is easier with the FS-C2526MFP & FS-C2626MFP‟s Send-To functionality. They can save scanned documents directly to folder on the server, a PC, as an e-mail attachment or even directly to a USB memory stick. The files can be scanned as JPG, PDF and TIF files.

The machines are TWAIN compatible.

Network fax The network fax functionality saves time and paper by directly faxing the documents that were created on the PC without printing them out.

Status monitor utility

The new intuitive utility, which contains status monitor and configuration tools, was created with ease of use in mind.

This status monitor gives customers real-time and useful information about the printer.

USB host and PDF direct print

Both models have a USB host interface which enables users to print out files stored on a USB stick. The feature supports PDF, TIFF and XPS files saved in the top three directory levels (XPS is supported only with additional memory of 256MB).

The USB host also supports scan to USB functionality where the scanned documents can be directly sent to the USB memory.

Improved calibration cycle

Earlier models performed a calibration every 80 pages with could disrupt printing activities.

Calibration only takes place every 500 pages on the FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP, reducing the chance of disruption.

Ceramic material properties ensure durability and high resistance to material stress (mechanical, thermal and physical) resulting in exceptional product reliability, reduced downtime, smooth workflow and exceptionally low TCO.

Long maintenance cycle The lifespan of the FS-C2526MFP & FS-C2626MFP‟s print engine is 600,000 pages. The Print Maintenance Kit MK-590 has to be fitted at 200,000 page intervals. The contents of the MK-590 are:

Password-protected configuration Access to user data and functionality can be comprehensively compromised if the device‟s configuration routines are not secure. The FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP incorporate three levels of configuration security:

1. The Command Center (the machine‟s web interface) is password-protected 2. The Control Panel‟s configuration sub-menu is password-protected 3. The Control Panel has a lock function

Interface blocking The USB Host and KUIO interface can all be blocked (disabled) to prevent unauthorised access the FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP.

This prevents documents being printed on them and paper documents scanned to USB and removed by an unauthorised person.

IP Filter The IP Filter is setup via the Command Center (web interface). It can be configured to allow access from specific IP addresses or ranges. This restricts access to the device and prevents unauthorised access from outside an approved subnet.

PDF Encryption The FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP can print encrypted PDF files from a USB (if the user has the password).

Documents scanned to a USB stick can be stored as password-protected and encrypted PDFs.

Private Print Private Print stores a document in the FS-C2526MFP or FS-C2626MFP until the user releases it by entering the appropriate PIN.

Private Print requires optional memory expansion and RAM Disk configuration.

Security watermark Security Watermarks are a standard feature of Kyocera‟s KX printer driver.

Access to the fax document box (storage area) can be restricted.

Optional fibre-optic interfaces Whenever secure fibre optic cabling is demanded by banks, insurance companies and government offices the optional fibre optic print servers support the customer‟s demand. PS129 and PS1129 can be used in FS-C2526MFP/FS-C2626MFP.

EcoPrint The EcoPrint feature saves toner when printing. The function can be used for test copies or any other occasion where high quality print is not necessary.

Combine mode The combine mode allows users to copy 2 or 4 originals combined onto a single page.

Long-life technology The long-life components featured in the FS-C2526MFP & FS-C2626MFP offer durability and unique product reliability through the lifetime of 600,000 pages. Running costs are dramatically reduced by only replacing the toner cartridge when toner runs out; the drum and developer – included in the all-in-one cartridges used by most other printers and MFPs – do not need replacing.

The enhanced reliability that results from the long-life components used means reduced downtime and smooth workflow which results with the lowest TCO in the class.

1-minute sleep mode The FS-C2526MFP & FS-C2626MFP can be configured to enter power-saving sleep mode after just 1 minute of inactivity.

For machines that are placed under a light workload, this will save considerable amounts of electricity, reducing bills and environmental impact.

Features contributing to Ease-of-Use

Easy toner replacement

The FS-C2526MFP & FS-C2626MFP have been specially designed to enable easy access to the toner. With one move, both parts of the machine open, revealing the toner container.

Unlike earlier models, there is no need to unlock the toner cartridges as the action of opening the top cover does this automatically.

Continuous scan When a large number of originals cannot be placed in the document processor at one time, the originals can be scanned in separate batches and then copied as one job. With this function, originals are scanned until [END Scan] is pressed.

Easy access

The USB host interface, waste toner compartment and power switch have been moved to the front of the FS-C2526MFP & FS-C2626MFP.

This make sit much easier to print from a USB stick, replace the waste toner bottle and power down the machines respectively.

Kyocera’s KX driver

The Kyocera KX driver is the only driver that supports a multi-operating system and multiple languages. When compared to competitor products, which often have different drivers for different operating systems and different printer-command languages, the KX driver is a seamless driver that supports all common operating systems and page-description languages (including PCL and PostScript).

It is extremely user-friendly, and installations or upgrades can be carried out simultaneously and with minimum disruption across multiple MFP or printer-device installations.

The graphical user interface of the KX driver is consistent throughout the product range and thus it is easy for users to move from one device to another without the need to find their way around a new driver interface.

Paper size and level indicators

The FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP‟s standard paper cassettes have indicators showing the size of paper stored in them. This ensures that the correct paper type is loaded into a cassette, vital if print profiles are to be deployed effectively.

Optional paper cassettes have a further indicator displaying media type as well as size.

All paper cassettes incorporate a level indicator, showing users at a glance if paper is low without them having to open the cassette.

The touch-screen control panel can operate in two ways.

Experienced users will prefer the traditional control panel with buttons that select common functions such as paper selection, duplex mode, collation, etc.

Less experienced user will prefer the wizard feature that gives them step-by-step guidance through tasks, allowing them to experience – perhaps for the first time – the wealth of sophisticated features available to them on a powerful multifunctional like the FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP.

Features that are demystified by the wizard function include double-sided copying and stapling.

Complex functions can also be combined onto a single button so, for example, if a user frequently has to scan incoming documents at 300dpi, in black and white, with a margin removed, and email it to three recipients, all these functions could be performed with a single button press.

Personalised control panel The buttons that appear on the touch-screen control panel can be personalised so that certain users only see the functions they need to see. This has a dual benefit:

It simplifies the device, removing unnecessary functions from the view of users who will never need them

It adds security by removing features – such as scan-to-email – from users not authorised to use them

Simple login

The days of having to enter long user names are gone!

To log in to the FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP users can tap on their name on the control panel. If security is required as well as convenience, a password can then be entered.

This simplified system has two advantages:

It makes it practical to personalise the control panel; if logging in is a simple process users are prepared to do it. A personalised control panel is far more effective than the norm.

It makes security more practical too. Many organisations are attracted to the idea of securing their multifunctionals but deterred by the complexity and delay users face. A simplified logon process makes security feasible.

Scan-To-Me The simple login and personalisation features are superbly exploited by the Scan-To-Me function. A user can enter a paper document and press a single Scan-To-Me button to have that document sent to a predetermined network, PC or email location without any other questions being asked.

Features contributing to Sustainability

Cartridge-free, toner-only design The ecological part of the ECOSYS is represented by the toner-only design. The long-life developer and photoconductor ensure that the toner cartridge is the only thing that needs to be replaced regularly.

Cardboard packaging

Polystyrene has been completely eliminated from the packaging in all Kyocera products: machines, accessories and consumables.

Packaging is made from pulp mould derived from recycled paper.

Ozone-free operation Typically, electrical charges in printers react with the oxygen in the air, creating ozone. With the adoption of the positively-charged roller, electrical charges aren‟t lost in the air which avoids the production of ozone. This technology was previously already used with the amorphous silicon drum found in high-volume Kyocera devices. The FS-C2526MFP and FS-C2626MFP are the first devices to use it with a long-life OPC drum.
