QUESTION 1: TIMED ACCURACY TEST MARKS: 20
NOTE: RED / = ACCURACY ERRORS
BE SURE TO MARK THE SPEED WITH CARE AS IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE TO THE RESULTS. REMEMBER THAT ONLY ACCURACY IS MARKED.
MARK ACCORDING TO THE ENCLOSED DEPARTMENTAL SCHEDULE.
MARK ACCURACY ERRORS ONLY.
Indicate accuracy errors with a red slash (/).
One or more incorrect characters in a word – 1 error.
Do not penalise incorrect margins.
Do not penalise incorrect line spacing.
Do not penalise incorrect hyphenation.
Do not penalise incorrect capital letters/small letters.
Do not penalise incorrect letter spaces.
Do not penalise incorrect alignment.
Do not penalise any display errors.
Do not penalise if a whole line or paragraph is left out and keyed in at another position.
When exactly the same word is repeatedly keyed in incorrectly, it is penalised ONCE only PER QUESTION. Thereafter it is encircled as a repetitive error.
![Page 6: INFORMATION PROCESSING N5 20 MAY 2019](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022050306/626f3d971d0d540168139737/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)

QUESTION 1 (CONTINUED)
Omission of words: Count the first 5 strokes and thereafter every 10 strokes as 1 error each. If the last few strokes at the end are 5 or more, count as another error. If the last few strokes at the end are less than 5, ignore.
If 45 wpm is not completed, count back as indicated in the marking guideline.
The highest mark obtained is indicated. The highest speed passed is indicated.
Indicate the speed obtained with Pass 45 wpm/Pass 50 wpm/Fail where applicable in the following way:
INDICATE AT THE END OF THE TIMED ACCURACY TEST:
Pass 45 wpm/Pass 50 wpm/Fail; Errors; Mark
INDICATE ON THE FRONT OF THE FOLDER DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE MARK OBTAINED FOR QUESTION 1:
Pass 45 wpm/Pass 50 wpm/Fail
(If the candidate did not hand in QUESTION 1, indicate by drawing a line through the block for the mark next to QUESTION 1 on the front of the folder and writing Fail at the appropriate positions.)
INDICATE ON THE FRONT OF THE FOLDER JUST BELOW THE CIRCLE FOR THE MARKS OBTAINED:
Pass 45 wpm/Pass 50 wpm/Fail
Should a candidate fail the examination (less than 40 %) and pass the timed accuracy test, the word Fail replaces the Pass 45 wpm/Pass 50 wpm as a candidate cannot fail the question paper as a whole and get recognition for the wpm.
THE MARK FOR TYPING TECHNIQUE (200) IS ADDED TO THE AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION MARK (100) TO OBTAIN A MARK OUT OF 300 WHICH IS PROCESSED TO A MARK OUT OF 100 (PERCENTAGE).

QUESTION 1 (CONTINUED) Abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional or verbal; it is
intimidation or manipulation of another person or an intrusion
into another's psyche; the purpose is to control another
person. It is generally a long term pattern of behaviour
although specific short term interactions can be labelled
abusive.
Recently the following categories have been included in
definitions of abusive behaviour: social, economic,
intellectual and spiritual. With child abuse neglect is also
an important component.
Abuse cuts across all social categories and classes. It
occurs in well-educated high income areas and in low income
working class areas; it happens in all races and religions.
It can occur in families, extended families, in
neighbourhoods, schools, churches, and community groups. Both
men and women can be abusive and it can occur in virtually all
age groups. The old can abuse the young and the young the
old. While standards are different in various cultures, it
occurs in virtually all countries as well.

QUESTION 1 (CONTINUED)
Because it is often learned at an early age, it can be passed
from generation to generation like a family disease. This is
called the intergenerational cycle of abuse.
Abuse tends to happen to people in a weaker position or to
those who are willing to be accommodating. Thus a stronger
brother will abuse a weaker brother; an agreeable and
supportive wife may be abused by her uncompromising husband;
a teacher may pick on a student who is having learning
problems; a spoiled teenage boy may manipulate a parent in an
abusive manner.
The site AbusiveLove.com is primarily about verbal abuse
although it discusses other abusive behaviours as well. It
concentrates on verbal because most abusive behaviour includes
verbal elements and because words and tone of voice can be
identified and changed more easily than other kinds.
Attacking and changing abusive verbal behaviour will go a long
way to preventing other abusive problems all of us are guilty
of abuse! No one is totally clean. All of us have said
things we wish we had not said, called people names,
belittled or become unreasonably angry. Most of us have
buttered someone up before asking him/her a favour. So

QUESTION 1 (CONTINUED) each of us that wants to stop the cycle of abuse can look
within ourselves for the same behaviour that we see in others,
the abusers who are trying to control us with their
abusiveness.
Yet true abusiveness is a pattern of behaviour that is aimed
at maintaining or gaining control
