Exchange period
Nominations may be for one semester or one full year. Please be advised, if nominated for 1 semester, no extensions will be possible once the student has arrived in Canada.
All nomination must be submitted online via HEC en ligne
Partner user ID and password - same every year. Should you need it, contact us.
Admission lettersAdmission letters will be mailed directly to Partners.
Students will receive a confirmation of admission by email with information on applying and the steps to follow to prepare for their stay.

HealthInsurance
Mandatory Insurance
Students are required to purchase their health insurance plan from HEC MontréalNote that no other health insurance plan is accepted.
The Health Insurance Plan covers prescription drugs, medical and hospital expenses.The cost is $371.00 CAD for one semester and $536.00 CAD for 2 semesters of same academic year. Payment is required upon arrival during orientation by debit or credit card only (NO cash accepted).

Bilateral Social Security Agreement
A bilateral social security agreement exists between Quebec and the following countries:Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Sweden.
Citizens/residents covered by the Social Security of one of the countries listed abovewil be covered free of charge by the "Régie de l’assurance‐maladie du Québec – RAMQ»"
Students must obtain a validated form from their countrie's Social Security prior to arrival.

45 contact hours (15 X 3) + 90 hours of personal work
Workload Requirements
The workload requirement to be considered a full-time student at HEC Montréal is 4 courses (12 credits).
For Exchange Students, the workload requirement to comply with HEC Montréal regulation is:
A minimum of 4 courses (12 credits) - may include 1 language course A maximum of 5 business courses (15 credits) + 1 language course (3 credits)
Full degree students at HEC Montréal take 5 courses (15 credits) per semester.
Language Requirements
Languages of instruction at HEC Montréal: French, English and Spanish
Students are not required to demonstrate their language proficiency.Note that the following scores are given as indication only:English: TOEFL: minimum of 83 - Internet Based Test – iBT
IELTS: minimum of 6.5
French: TFI: minimum of 750

Business courses are offered in 3 languages: French, English and Spanish
Please note that courses given in French may sometimes require the use of English text books.
For courses given in French, it is possible to take exams in English under certain conditions.
