Why major in IT?

“...Total US IT employment is predicted to double in this decade. Similarly, the security of computer networks will continue to increase in importance as more business is conducted over the Internet.” --U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2006).

Bachelor of Information Technology• Today’s companies want technical specialists who are articulate,

friendly, professional and have some common sense in addition to their technical skills. They have to be able to write manuals and plans, train non-technical employees to be more productive, and assist managers in making decisions involving technology.

• In 180 credit hours of instruction, the BIT degree delivers a well-rounded technical education that prepares students to design and administer a business computer network with minimal security risks and a maximum return on the business investment. It also provides a solid foundation in communication, problem-solving, and workplace professionalism plus specific classes on how to support and educate users to achieve optimal productivity from the computer technology at their disposal. I transferred to National College of Business and Technology from Virginia Tech in September of 2003 and I’m enrolled in National’s Information Systems Engineering Program—a two-year program in which students learn how to plan, implement, maintain, secure, and

support operating systems and networked environments. At National you find a smaller class environment; and you are not just a number—your teachers know who you are, really care about you, and make sure that you understand the material covered. These factors have

helped me to reach my academic goals. If you are interested in reaching your educational and career goals, I really recommend that

you take a serious look at National.
