PROVINCES & TERRITORIESTOURISM BROCHURE PROJECT

Using Microsoft Word, Publisher or Photoshop, design a travel brochure for your city. The brochure should capture the reader’s attention and highlight some of the main attractions, sights, landmarks and facts about your city.

Brochure Guidelines: Include the name and logo of your travel agency on the back cover Include your company’s contact information (address, phone numbers, e-mail,

website) Graphic images to help illustrate information Highlight some facts or noteworthy information about your city. You can get

creative and make a “Top Ten Reasons to Visit” list about your destination. A catchy title on the cover to help entice the reader and capture their attention

When designing a three-panel brochure, consider the following design tips and guidelines: 1. Do Not Overcrowd. Do not clutter the elements included on each panel in the brochure. Leave plenty of “white” space to make each area easy to read and pleasing to the eye. 2. Minimize Typefaces (Fonts). Use no more than two or three different typefaces (fonts) in your brochure. This helps to create a clean, crisp, professional look.3. Keep Elements in Proportion. Keep the size and proportion of each element on the brochure balanced and symmetrical. 4. Minimize Color. If you will be printing your brochure using a color printer, keep the number of colors to a minimum. Remember to keep your color scheme consistent with those used in your logo and/or on your business card and letterhead. 5. Use Short blocks of Text. Keep the amount of text you place in one particular area to a minimum. This helps to keep the reader moving through the brochure and from getting “bored.” 6. Use Headings and Subheadings. Divide chunks of information by using bold headings and/or subheadings in the brochure.
