This week’s Information Update is a little longer than it would normally be; but it contains a number of important and informative articles which I urge you to read carefully. GRIP Leadership Course Last Friday, our student leaders, the Student Councillors and Faction Captains, attended a leadership course with their teachers Ms Foster and Mrs Varvell. They met with student leaders from a large number of other metropolitan primary schools to develop their skills. Workshops included “Establishing Core Values to Become a Good Leader”, “How to Spot Bullying—Speaking Out and Stamping Out” and “Creating a Plan for Your Own Journey as a Leader”. We wish the participants well as they implement what they have learnt. “New” Toilets I am pleased to announce that a lengthy upgrade of the school toilets was finally completed last Fri-day. The tiling and repainting was long overdue. I will be urging the children to appreciate these im-provements and respect the facilities. The staff toilet block has also had a make-over. Environmental Focus My thanks to Mrs Richardson who has organised a visit by “Captain Waterwise” for tomorrow, Tues-day. This environmental focus combined with last Friday’s whole-school clean-up of the grounds is to promote the care and respect of our environment. There is no cost to this incursion. Schools Closed on Easter Tuesday With Easter falling during the term this year, it is important that families note that school will be closed on Good Friday, 25th March, Easter Monday, 28th March and Tuesday 29th March. Start Smart Financial Literacy Sessions The last of our classes will participate today in sessions designed to teach important financial literacy skills. Those who make use of the school banking program are already ahead in this knowledge and understanding. Regards,
Peter Millar
