In 2014, Infosys became the first IT company in the world to publish sustainability disclosures in accordance with the GRI’s G4 guidelines.

The first ICT company in India to declare a goal of becoming carbon neutral by fiscal 2018 at the United Nations.

Work with Internal and external stakeholders to define sustainability strategy and goals.

Focus Area Status 2014-2015 Goals for 2015-2016

Carbon emissions

Reduced Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 4.32%

Will reduce carbon intensity of Scope 1 and 2 by 3% over fiscal 2015 levels.

Electricity Reduced per capita electricity consumption by 4.34%. Achieved 46.04% per capita reduction in electricity consumption against the baseline set in fiscal 2008.

Will reduce per capita electricity consumption by 3% over fiscal 2015 levels.

Renewable energy

Met 29.11% of overall electricity requirements from renewable sources of energy.Invested in 15 MW of solar PV plants.

Will meet 40% or electricity requirements form renewable energy sources.Will install 15 MW of solar power plants

Water Implemented rainwater harvesting in all new buildings constructed during fiscal 2015.Have installed meters to ascertain the quantity of waste water generated and reused within our campuses.

Will reduce per capita freshwater consumption by 5% over fiscal 2015 levels.

Waste 68.75% of food waste has been treated onsite through biogas plants.Replaced 100% identified disposables with eco-friendly alternatives across all food courts in our campuses.More than 50% garden waste is composed.

75% of food waste will be treated onsite through composting or through biogas plants.

Biodiversity Planted 89,465 saplings in fiscal 2015. Will grow 100,000 saplings on campuses in fiscal 2016.

Education Trained 1440 faculty members and 34,655 students in 2014-15.

Will train 1000 faculty and 25,000 students.

Sustainable engagement

Promoted ‘Clean India’ campaign across DCs.This year company has spent US $40 million for CSR initiatives.

Will develop a framework for integrated reporting and make disclosures using this framework.

Green Technology InnovationRadiflux

Pioneered the use of radiant cooling technology in India through the deployment of radiant slab and radiant panel based cooling systems.

Beema Bamboo

Planted Beema Bamboo to maximize carbon sequestration, creating a natural canopy and cooling the surrounding area.

Infosys SDB 6, Mysuru: The building design demonstration nearly 39% reduction in energy consumption compared to ASHRAE baseline standards. Nearly 78% of the office space is naturally lit and does not require lights during the day and about 93% of occupied spaces have access to outside views.

Installed more than 25,000 pressure compensating aerators (PCA) in water faucets across all campuses during fiscal 2015 optimizing water to a great extent.

Setting up an analytics data hub for agri-business companies to help them provide real-time information on the distribution of crops, kind of yields, etc.

Infosys Foundation has helped in the construction of a 7,500 sq. ft. building at Chittadhama, a residential rehabilitation centre for the mentally affected who are homeless.Agastya and Infosys Foundation have together created higher standards of education for the country’s underprivileged by providing them with training workshops, mobile labs, and a hands-on educational methodology.

Rural Development
