• WPA2.3 WP-Title: Hardware Procurement
• Main objectives of WPA2.3:
– Completion of all multi-cylinder engines.– Achievement of a uniform configuration of all engines.– Layout of crankcase ventilation system and procurement.
• Status Summary of WPA2.3: All three engines completed and tested.– Conversion of engines 2 and 3 from CR = 13 to CR = 12.– Layout crankcase ventilation system completed and tested.

• Task A2.3.3 Multi cylinder engines generation 2 - Status:• Third multi-cylinder engine (gen. 2, engine number: YK0003173)
was completed.
• Initial test on engine test bench.
• Conversion from CR = 13 to CR = 12 (piston InGAS-V1).
• Handed over to Continental in March 2010.
• Layout of crankcase ventilation system completed and tested. Final test including piping on engine test bench or vehicle still outstanding.
• Investigations on engine test bench to improve cam phaser behavior carried out. A solution for satisfactory stationary operation was found. Transient behavior is still insufficient.

• Problems / Changes compared to plan
– Engine damage due to wear of slide rail. • Engine No. 2 was sent to AVL as replacement.• Redesign of slide rails with different material is in progress.
– Adjustment of cam phaser too slow.• Measurement of oil pressure in preparation.
