Ingham Family Medical Practice

Ingham Family Medical Practice is an accredited teaching practice located in Ingham with a practice in Cardwell, North Queensland. It is a purpose built building with currently eight doctors on staff, we are looking to recruit further four Doctors. The practice principal is a college examiner and holds Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology and has much Paediatric and Emergency medicine experience.

The practice offers audiometry, spirometry, “Solarscan” skin checks and E.C.G.’s. We do a variety of health checks and medicals. Sullivan and Nicolaides Pathology are on site, as well as allied health services by a dietician, two podiatrists, an audiologist, two psychologists and a diabetes educator.

Registered and Enrolled nurses provide continuous medical officer support, as well as performing pap smears, asthma and diabetes education. We are a registered Q-fever and yellow fever vaccination centre, as well as providing the usual private and NHS vaccinations.

Visiting rights may be obtained for the local hospital, allowing interesting inpatient care and good camaraderie with the public hospital doctors. Visits to our patients at nursing homes are also undertaken, and a good relationship exists with all three facilities in our area.

As a practice we have regular social evenings and family outings. Popular with our staff are the murder mystery dinners, picnics at the beach and boat outings around the Hinchinbrook Island.
