Increase diversion levels statewide
Develop RMDZ partnerships with more local governments
Develop more sustainable regional markets
A SOLUTION………….• Initiate a 2006 Zone Designation
Cycle • Set new objectives for 2006 cycle• Fill up to 40 zones• Conduct broad outreach campaign• New RMDZ approvals in 2007
RMDZ PROGRAM
• Business tool: for diversion and business development
• Goal: increase use of locally collected recyclable waste materials
• Joint partnership with local government & businesses– Incentives offered– Customized services offered
• Emphasis on regional market development
Objectives for a Designation Cycle (CCR 17909)…….
