CHILDLINE INDORE CHILDLINE INDORE- Rescue operation Juice Centre Total Number of Children Rescued: 23 Category: Child Labour/ Child Abuse case Date of Rescue: 15/03/2012 Place of Rescue: Juice Thelas, Indore 23 Child Labours rescued from Fruit Juice shops, Indore After sarafa operation again found information of child labour at Juice Thelas and CHILDLINE Indore organized rescue operation for 23 children who were trafficked from Uttar Pradesh, Behraich. A joint team of officials from Women and Child Development Department, police and Indore CHILDLINE carried out raids to free the children working under inhuman/hazardous condition as bonded labourers. The children rescued were working at various Juice Thelas at different places of Indore. A team of officials i.e. CHILDLINE, WCD, Police department, Labour depa rtment was formed and rescue operation was conducted. There were 2 small houses where the children were staying after work from morning 6:00 Am to night 11:00 PM. All 23 children were from Behraich District (Uttar pradesh). The children were brought to Indore to work at Juice Thelas after paying money to their poor parents.Their parents are too poor to come here and enquire about their children's plight, these children were made to work around 15 hours a day on just meals and no wages at all and that , too in unhealthy conditions. These children and their employers were then brought to Sanyogiga Police Station, an Fir against the employers was lodged by CHILDLINE. Children were handed over to Indore CHILDLINE for temporary shelter. Out of 23 children 11 children were brought to SJPU, Pardesipura and 12 children to CHILDLINE centre. CWC members were present during the whole operation and they issued orders for further enquiry and temporary shelter. Child Welfare Committee met all the children and finally after round of many discussions and they given order to send all the children to their home. Indore collector and WCD department provided financial support for the new cloths and small cash support of Rs. 3000 to each child. CHILDLINE team with support of Police department went to Behraich to send back children to their homes. CHILDLINE also explored the network of CHILDLINE centres at Lucknow, behraich to extend the local support. Presently all the children are free and happy with their families.
