New Headquarters
Also in May, Innography moved to a new headquarters – our new address is 3900 N. Capital of Texas Highway, Suite 175,
Austin, TX 78746. The new space provides room for almost twice as many employees and a great work environment –

Innography’s Growth and Milestones So Far in 2013Innography celebrated its sixth birthday the summer of 2013, amid significant growth milestones
and advances. This white paper is meant to provide an update to friends of Innography on our
progress the first half of 2013, and a preview of what’s coming the rest of the year.

New Tagline
You may have noticed that Innography’s logo now has a tagline: “IP Answers. Business Results.” The new tagline combines two statements:
• IP Answers: With pre-correlated data and the most advanced analytics available, Innography gives the best answers to questions about IP – such as where to invest in IP, how to monetize IP, and what’s occurring in specific IP domains.
• Business Results: In addition IP can help answer business questions in many areas, such as competitive intelligence, and even innovator retention and recruiting. Innography focuses on helping clients obtain better business outcomes with the use of our solution.
Taken as a whole, the new tagline – “IP Answers. Business Results.” – defines both Innography’s value proposition to leading companies worldwide, as well as the direction of our ongoing efforts to enhance our solution.
Insights Client Conference
In May, Innography hosted our fourth annual Insights Client Conference, bringing together about 100 clients and thought-leaders in IP management.
The conference was rated very highly – 86% of attendees were Very or Extremely Satisfied with the conference. Attendees said they most valued
the hands-on workshops, the roadmap previews, presentations from our executives and external speakers, and the chance to network with peers in
an informal environment.

Expanded Leadership
In the first half of 2013, Innography welcomed several new leaders to the team to help guide and drive growth efforts:
John F. Martin joined Innography as Chairman and CEO in March, bringing to the team over 25 years of software industry leadership and a track record of leading and growing
innovative software companies. Chip Harmon came aboard as VP Sales, with decades of experience in sales leadership in business intelligence and
enterprise software.Ernie Fontes fills the new role of Director of Client
Success, with positive reviews from clients in multiple software companies
in his career. Ernie will oversee Innography’s revamped support and client governance processes,
to ensure clients gain complete value from the
Innography solution.
Carlisha Robinson joined as Director of Product Management, after 20 years in Product Management for BMC Software. She will interact directly with clients on product roadmap planning
and upcoming features.
Completing the backbone of our leadership team are Founder and President Tyron Stading, VP Client Success Shauna Osborne, VP Engineering Roji John, and CFO Brett Panter. Due to his key role in financial stewardship and “keeper of the culture” last year, Brett was nominated for Austin Business Journal’s Best CFO of 2013 Award.
Community Service
Innography is firmly committed to positively impacting its community, with two “service days” for all employees each year and frequent community-focused fundraising events throughout the year. In April, Innography won its fourth consecutive “Austin Cup” for the highest fundraising for its company size.
In addition, our own Jennifer Johnson won the individual volunteer award at the Austin Cup for her tireless community service efforts – including coordinating Innography’s award-winning can drive sculpture to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank.
Innography sent its new CEO “Over the Edge” to rappel down one of the tallest buildings in Austin, raising thousands of dollars to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Analyst Report on Innography Playbooks
Following last year’s Outsell analyst report on Innography Playbooks, in June 2013 IDC released a research report titled “Innography Playbooks — Combining Unified Information Access and Business Process to Deliver Value”.
“Innography Playbooks provide step-by-step business-oriented processes that automate key IP analysis activities and enable IP pros and novices alike to use the power of IP analytics and perform key tasks quickly and accurately.” – IDC, June 2013
IDC commended Innography on the innovative Playbooks that provide ready-made answers to business users, and represent a new phase in information services.

Summer 2013 Release
The Innography Product team worked closely with clients early in the year to understand what enhancements would help clients the most, and crafted a high-value release for July 29.
The Summer 2013 Release had dozens of new features, including these
significant enhancements:
• Directed Semantic Search allows semantic analysis within a portfolio, against patents of a particular company or against Innography’s entire database of nearly 90 million patents.
• New Visualizations include new Tree Map (“honeycomb”) charts
and new visualizations for analyzing portfolio strength and longevity.
Solution Advances in 2013Innovation and product leadership – together, these guide Innography’s approach and
investments in product and solution development. The first half of 2013 has already seen many
advances in both product features and services advancement.

• Visualization export capabilities now allow users to export graphs and data to Microsoft Excel™ for further refinement and formatting.
• Innography Playbooks are now part of the commercial Advanced Analysis license package.
• Global Enhancements include adding full-text Chinese patents, and continually expanding international patents, now from over 100 jurisdictions.
With significant enhancements in many areas of the product, this release has received great reviews from clients, and was featured as “Product of the Week” by Law Technology News.
Innography Explorer Successes
Announced last November, Innography Explorer is
targeted at R&D users and innovators to help them investigate the IP landscape in their technology area. Innography Explorer
includes two Playbooks that are specific to
R&D users: Ideation and Invention Review.
More clients are adopting Innography Explorer
as an easy-to-use method for R&D
personnel and innovators to perform their research and prepare disclosures
more completely and
efficiently.

Regional Training Days
In August, Innography hosted a training day in Silicon Valley, and will host three more training events this Fall in Seattle, Chicago, and New York. These events are a full day of Innography knowledge-building, IP Strategy insights, product training, and networking. The agenda includes five hands-on workshops, client case-studies, a review of new features, and a preview of the product roadmap. IP AnswerGuideTM
Many of you may know of the “paper playbooks” that were quick how-to guides for common analyses in Innography. Well, we have completely updated the paper plays and added quick-reference guides, and we’ve put them into a useful binder called IP AnswerGuide. The new IP AnswerGuide will be available in late August; if you would like to receive one, please contact your Client Success Manager.
New Website
In mid-September, Innography will launch an entirely new website. With a completely new look and all-new content, the new website will be a great resource for both clients and prospects. We look forward to your comments and feedback!
Maturity Model
Announced at Insights 2013, the Innography IP Maturity Model
is the result of hundreds of discussions and projects with leading innovative companies around the world. A workshop and assessment will be built around the IP Maturity Model,
which will be available starting in October 2013.
Fall 2013 Release
The Fall 2013 Release will be generally available on November 11, 2013. This release includes PatentScoutTM, a new product designed to bring private patent searching to anyone in your organization for one low fee. Advanced Analysis added features include full indexing for CPC, 200,000 free litigation documents from PACER and 5,000,000 free legal status documents from the public PAIR. It now also supports more wildcards and operators. The ability to download patents in .doc format to enable adding notes and highlighting has also been added.
