BOARD OF TRUSTEES (BOT) MEETINGBoard of Trustees (BOT) Meeting was held on 30th November 2019. Important decisions regarding the future planning and progress of SZABIST were discussed and finalized.

16TH ANNUAL CONVOCATION 2019On 9th December 2019, SZABIST arranged its 16th Annual Convocation at the Karachi Expo Centre. A

record-breaking 1163 degrees were conferred in front of an attendance of 4000 people. The Chief

Guest of the occasion was Honorable Mr. Saleem Mandviwalla (Deputy Chairman, Senate of Pakistan)

while Ms. Aseefa Bhutto graced the occasion with her presence as special guest.

COMHEC 20193rd Inter-University Computer Hardware

Projects Exhibition and Competition

was held on 30th November 2019. COMSATS University Islamabad and SZABIST

jointly won the 1st prize.

FALAH-E-KAHLQ A series of programs on women

empowerment, education, civic sense, environment and

health care were organized under the banner of

“Falah-e-Khalq” from 9th to 4th December 2019.

WINNERS OF NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

COMPETITION 2019BBA 7E students, Mr. Asad

Shah and Ms. Basrah Tariq along with their group members achieved this feat with the help of their mentor/

faculty Mr Zurrain Farhan on 23rd November 2019.

WON BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD AT 5TH ASIA INTERNATIONAL

CONFERENCE, MALAYSIA

Competing against 250 papers from 17 countries, Shumaila Ejaz and Asna

Usman, won Two Best Research Paper Awards with the support of coauthor Mr.

Waqar Akbar. The conference was held in Malaysia from 6th to 8th December 2019.

HABIB OLYMPIADOn 21st November 2019, Saim

Adnan won the first prize in Table Tennis tournament

organized by Habib University.

NEW MEMBER OF SZABIST TEAMWe welcome Dr. Arshad Saleem, Vice President

Administration. He completed his PhD degree in Social Sciences from Hamdard University in 2018. He

has worked as a Vice Chancellor at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University and served in different

renowned national and international institutions. He is a researcher, writer and policy maker.
