international capability for this

globalised need.

Customised for telecomsSaft tailors advanced energy storage technologies to meet the specific evolving needs of telecom networks. Saft brings operators and OEMs now more powerful and longer-life solutions with enhanced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Back-up energy systems for fixed wireless, cable and cellular networks are essential to:

ensure high level of Quality of Service,•

withstand fluctuations in temperature and humidity,•

guarantee reliable performance, whether in urban or remote locations.•

Saft batteries meet particular telecom requirementsFor these applications a back-up battery system should offer:

high reliability and availability,•

ability to operate at high •temperatures with minimal effect on operating life,

high charge efficiency,•

more Energy / Power availability •in constrained space,

good resistance to electrical and •mechanical abuse,

good cycling capability,•

minimal maintenance,•

low weight and volume if •transported to remote places,

favourable life cycle cost,•

easy to recycle.•

New technology for an evolving needSaft’s new generation of fully integrated power and energy solutions include telecom Li-ion battery systems. These provide currently an energy density of 140 Wh/L, and Saft will increase this in the near future to 180 Wh/L enabling:

further improved performance,•

reduced volume and weight,•

Ni-Cd: uncompromised reliability

Saft’s Ni-Cd Tel.X is built specifically for the new generation of decentralised telecom networks, providing:

high energy density,•

extremely long duration life,•

good and stable performance •data,

good storage capability, •

optimised Total Cost of •Ownership.

With Tel.X, battery replacement is not necessary during the life of the equipment, under typical operating conditions.

Tel.X offers totally reliable back-up power in fibre-optic networks offering triple-play services and in remote networks.

high energy density, •

maintenance free,•

simple installation,•

temperature resistant,•

no active cooling required,•

compatible with existing •telecom equipment.

tel.X - the high energy density, low maintenance batterySustainable design The whole life cycle of Tel.X is considered closely during all phases of development, from manufacturing to industrial operations and recycling.

Tel.X manufacture consumes significantly less upstream energy and its advanced design reduces still further the environmental impact of waste processing.

In operation, Tel.X contributes to significantly less energy consumption during its useful life. Its excellent cycling profile based on a highly efficient float charge regime contributes directly to reduced peripheral energy consumption, including cabinet air conditioning and maintenance.

A range of possibilities The Tel.X range is available from 75 Ah to 170 Ah in modular construction to suit your capacity needs. Each module comprises 3 to 10 cells in flame retardant material UL-94 VO and lifting handle to facilitate easy handling and installation.

Tel.X is qualified to NEBS level III, the highest safety and functional standards from Telcordia, and is designed to meet the environmental requirements of GR-3108, the performance requirements of GR-3020 and IEC 60623.

The combination of sintered/pbe, flooded electrolyte and corrosion-free technology gives NCX the edge over conventional valve regulated lead acid (VRLA), particularly in extreme conditions.

resilient and compact NCX provides hundreds of Ah per square metre in installations where space is at a premium. It offers:

field-proven reliability,•

long life in extreme •temperatures,

very low maintenance with •Water Filling System,

qualified up to zone 4 •earthquake.

SPHSPH provides totally reliable support in UPS applications and in starting diesel engine generators should mains power fail.

Powerful support indoorsFor central office deployment, SPH technology reduces water loss, does not produce fumes, and has been proven in industry over many years to deliver:

high discharge capability,•

direct retrofit with VRLA.•

Ultima.plusUltima.plus batteries are designed using the well-established pocket plate technology which minimises water use to give extended life and ultra-low maintenance. Ultima.plus provides exceptionally reliable back-up power, with the additional benefits of:

excellent robustness,•

very low life cycle cost.•

Solar power is the solution of choice for off-grid telecom sites demanding high system reliability with low maintenance and reduced running costs.

dependable power in unpredictable conditionsSunica.plus is designed to offer the best energy storage solution in photovoltaic, wind energy and hybrid electrical storage applications.

Sunica.plus excels even when operating in fluctuating conditions and temperature extremes of - 50°C to +70°C (- 58°F to +158°F), additionally featuring:

high cycling capability,•

resistance to erratic charging •conditions,

absolute reliability with low •maintenance,

no risk of sudden death.•
