INTRODUCTION

The Science textbook of IXth standard includes the chapter “Periodic Table and Chemical Bonding” and

its first half deals with the history and evolution of periodic table. Being a science teacher and by

considering the passive nature of the particular topic I felt the need of a special tool to teach the topic. In

fact for effective transaction of the topic, students’ complete involvement should be ensured. Thus I

modified the study material to a module.

OBJECTIVES

To understand the process of evolution of periodic table.

To develop scientific attitude

To understand the features of modern periodic table.

PROCEDURE

For this work I have prepared a module which helps the learners for self learning

CONCLUSION

This tool was very helpful for the students to study the history of Periodic Table. The tool could

arouse the interest of students to learn about the origin and evolution of Periodic Table.
