THE TOTAL ECOSOLUTIONS PROGRAMLaunched in 2009, the Total Ecosolutions program involves developing innovative products and services that enable our customers to reduce their environmental* impact. These solutions are awarded Total Ecosolutions, a specific label developed by Total.
At the end of 2016, the Total Ecosolutions program encompasses 96 products and services, including plastics, resins, lubricants, fuels, washing solutions, bitumen, special fl uids and solar panels. This range of ecoeffi cient solutions is gradually extended.

The Total Ecosolutions labeling process has been verified by an external independent auditor to ensure that it complies with the principles set out in ISO standards 14020 and 14021.

THE TOTAL ECOSOLUTIONS LABELTo qualify for the Total Ecosolutions label, our products and services must deliver the same outcome as the market standard, while offering a signif icant improvement of environmental performance, such as natural resources, energy or water use reduction.
The Total Ecosolutions labeling process was developed in accordance with the principles set out in the international ISO 14020 and 14021 standards governing environmental labels and declarations.
To support the process, an internal governance organization has been set up to:
■■ select and assess the products and services eligible for the label;■■ ensure strict compliance with the labeling process;■■ review the Total Ecosolutions lineup every year to check that it still meets the labeling criteria.
DID YOU KNOW?According to our estimates, the sales in 2016 of products and services labeled Total Ecosolutions avoid 1.75 million metric tons of carbone dioxide emissions (on their whole life cycle when compared with the reference products and services). That is the amount emitted by 196,000 European Union residents in one year*.
