Getting up this morning (May 1st) it was obvious that winter had replaced our long and enjoyable extended summer. Like most people this change usually comes with an internal voice telling you the year is almost half way through and it will be over before you know it. Gathering momentum for the business community has proved difficult this year. With the Christmas holiday period these days lasting until the end of Feb, a late Easter and a scattering of public holidays there has been plenty of opportunity for extended breaks from work.If you are like me the cold change is greeted with a sense of relief that we can finally see a long and settled work period coming that is free of the stop, start nature of the year so far. So its full steam ahead for us all with lots to look forward to.One of those things for the Trade Tools Group is the Agricultural Field Days at Mystery Creek, for the second year we will be running a site under our “My Tools” brand. You will find in this magazine some field days specials which will be available even if you are not lucky enough to attend the event.

“My Tools” has been hugely successful addition to our group, primarily as it provides to consumers and businesses the most comprehensive range of tools available on-line in NZ. The rapid shift away from in store purchasing into e-commerce (especially in hand and power tools) was initially concerning but My Tools has allowed us to significantly increase the brands and product lines on offer, with an improved delivery and service standard, freight free and product at a reduced cost. The consumer is the ultimate winner. The key for our Trade Tools customers is that our sales and support staff can focus on what we are best at (cutting tools, oils & lubricants, measuring tools and abrasives).
