Kaveri chicks on 16th

of December, 2019.

The main purpose of the program was to visit beneficiaries at their door step to evaluate the

present status of the chicks, chick mortality or loss, survivability rate of chicks, present strength,

overall growth of the chicks, type of shelter/ housing provided to the birds, health status,

occurrence of disease, problems or constraints faced by the beneficiaries while rearing the birds.

The chick survivability was 100 % with fifty per cent (10/20) of the beneficiaries, in one

beneficiary, all the chicks died due to predation. The high cost of feed purchased from the market

was appeared as the major limitation rearing the birds by the beneficiaries.
