Searching For Order Releases In TMS

There are numerous ways to search for order releases in TMS. Below is a screen shot of the main screen that the user will see after logging into TMS.

When searching for an order release, the user will use the ORDER MANAGEMENT tab which is located on the left hand side of the main screen in TMS.

Page 4: Inquiry User Manual

After clicking on the order management tab the user must click on the ORDER RELEASE tab as shown below.

Once the user clicks on the order release tab a screen will appear which contains many blank fields where the user can enter in various search parameters to search for the order releases. On the next page is a screen shot showing the order release screen where various search parameters can be entered in to search for an order release.

Order releases can be searched by information such as dates, system that the order originated from (I.E. Cops/Lognet), location that the order is shipping from (I.E. Racine Plant), status of the order (I.E. Planning_New), as well as weights and dimensions. For this exercise we will search for orders originating from the Racine Plant.

This will be completed by clicking on the location tab which is shown at the top of the above screenshot.

Page 6: Inquiry User Manual

When the user clicks on the location tab from a blank order release screen the below screen will appear.

In the above screen the user can enter in various information associated with the locations of where an order release is shipping out of as well as where the order is shipping too.

Because this exercise is showing the user how to search for orders that are shipping from the Racine Plant there are a few ways the user can begin to search for these orders.

Searches can be conducted by using the location code that is associated with the Racine Plant(001) or by entering Sturtevant in the source city name field. The user can also enter in other information such as the source province code(WI). The user can both enter in the entire name of the city, state, province code, country code and bring the drop down menu associated with both entries to populate with “same as”, or the user can enter the first few characters of the city/state and populate the drop down menu with “begins with”.

On the page that follows is an example of a search for orders out of the Racine Plant.

Page 7: Inquiry User Manual

Shown below is the city and province field populated to conduct a search for order releases out of the Racine plant.

This search was conducted by entering in Sturtevant and “same as” in the source city field and WISCONSIN and “same as” in the source province field. If the user actually knew the TMS location code for the Racine plant the source location i.d. of 001 could have been entered in as well.

The user will most likely want to search for orders that are in status PLANNING_NEW. A status of planning new means that the orders have not yet been planned into a shipment of any kind. In order to search for order releases which have a status of planning_new the user must now enter in search parameters using the status tab which is also shown at the top of the order release search screen.

Page 8: Inquiry User Manual

Below is a screen shot of more search criteria being entered into TMS. This information was entered in by clicking on the “STATUS” tab.

This is a search for orders that have not yet been planned into a shipment or altered in any way by the user, thus the status of planning_new.

Once all search parameters have been entered in by the user the user must hit the search tab at the bottom of the TMS screen. A list will appear showing the order releases in TMS based on the search parameters entered in by the user. On the page that follows is a screen shot of all orders in TMS originating out of Racine which are in a status of planning_new.

Page 9: Inquiry User Manual

There are 43 orders listed which are in planning_new status and originating out of Racine. The user can even refine the query more to enter in information such as order destination which can be entered in by state, city, country, etc…..

On the page that follows is a screen shot of a refined query of the above listed 43 searching for orders out of Racine which have destinations within the USA.

Page 10: Inquiry User Manual

From the refine query tab shown on the previous page the user can click on the location tab at the tab of the page and enter in destination information for the order releases that are being searched for. For this exercise the user can enter in a DESTINATION COUNTRY CODE of USA and hit the drop down menu associated with the destination country code to read “same as”.

The user will then click on the SEARCH tab at the bottom of the screen again and a refined listing of order releases will appear.

The results of the refined query are shown on the next page.

Page 11: Inquiry User Manual

TMS has now narrowed down the search to 5 orders. This list is all the orders originating out of Racine(Sapko, APL) which are in PLANNING_NEW status that have destination locations with the United States.
