Curriculum

PVA offers the traditional scope and sequence for grades K3-12. PVA uses the Abeka curriculum in K3-6th grade and Accelerated Reading in 1st-8th grades. The TOPS curriculum and ACT Prep is offered for all students. PVA offers Dual Enrollment Classes (36 hours offered) from ULM and Louisiana Delta Community College.

Academics

PVA offers excellent academic op-portunities which stress a curriculum with emphasis on college preparatory courses.

• Spelling Bee Finalist compete every year• Average ACT score of 23 for 50% of 2015 graduates• Top 25% of the 2015 graduates had an ACT score of 24 or above• Dual Enrollment Classes with ULM, offering 36 hours of college credit• 75% of class of 2015 qualified for TOPS• 82% of the 2015 graduates were 3.0 or higher honor students

Athletics

PVA offers a full competitive athletic program that competes in the Mis-sissippi Association of Independent Schools. Throughout its history, PVA has earned division and state champi-onships in all sports, recently claiming division championships in basketball, baseball and softball.

Activities

PVA encourages well-rounded stu-dents, so involvement in extracurricu-lar activities is encouraged. Organiza-tions include the Student Council, National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spartan Yearbook and 4-H Club. These organizations sponsor varied activities that provide students with opportunities to use their many talents.

PVA offers chaperoned trips to vari-ous places at intervals during school vacations. These trips provide students with learning experiences which en-hance knowledge of history, geogra-phy, various cultures, and customs. The National Honor Society makes a trip to Williamsburg, Washington, D.C., New York, and the Pennsyl-vania Amish country. While there, they have the opportunity to enjoy a Broadway play, a dinner theatre, the Radio City Music Hall Extravaganza, an NBC Studio tour, the New York Stock Exchange, the Smithsonian, and the Capitol along with other points of interest.

PVA sports at the junior high and var-sity level include football, basketball, baseball, softball, cheer, track, tennis and golf. Supervised weight room and training room facilities are available for all students.

PVA PeeWee Sports for grades 3rd through 6th include cheer, football, basketball, softball and baseball.
