TRANSCRIPT
As we enter the ever-so-
hectic month of May, let’s
look over the rise to see
what’s on the other side
together.
May 30th, Trinity Sunday,
marks the last day of the Fall
-Spring calendar.
Starting June 6th, we
transition to one 9:30am
service through the duration
of Summer, returning to two
services on September 12th.
After each Summer
service, the youth will be
providing a brunch in the
café, as a fellowship
opportunity for the church.
The following week, June
13th, marks the start of our 5
-day VBS Program, which
will run from 6:30-8:30pm
June 13-17. The theme this
year will be a ―High-Seas
Adventure‖ and promises to
be a lot of fun. Registration
will become available online
soon.
This is a great opportunity
for friends outside of Lord of
Summer Approaches
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF STAMPOREE
In their continuing effort to support LWR, the Kindred Sisters is asking all LOLLC
members and friends to help support this LWR project by collecting and saving can-
celled postage stamps. For your convenience and collection, a “Stamporee” box is in the
Welcome Center waiting for your used envelopes containing cancelled stamps. If tearing
off envelope, leave at least 1-1/2‖ around the stamp. Commemorative Stamps, State and
United States Stamps from Fishing and Hunting Licenses are most desirable. RE-
MEMBER: Cancelled Stamps are available … not only from each of us personally, but
from businesses and even GARAGE SALES.

Life to get involved, so if
you’re thinking of register-
ing your child, please
consider inviting neighbors
and friends as well.
Finally, rounding out the
summer, the Camp
Chrysalis Family Retreat
will take place July 30 —
Aug. 1. More information
about this event can be
found on Page Five.
Now, as we bring our
minds back around to May,
let me thank all of you will
(or did, depending on when
you’re reading this) help
with the Annual Work Day
on May 1. It’s such a bless-
ing to have so many helping
hands keeping our building
looking beautiful.
Church Council will be
having their own retreat on
May 15th. So let’s make
sure to pray that it
invigorates the Spirit in our
leadership to ever follow
closely the vision God has
for our ministry as a church.
God’s Work, Our Hands
And lastly, let’s remem-
ber the very special last
Sundays of May.
May 23rd will be the
day of Confirmation for
several of our youth. We
look forward to supporting
them as they honor God in
this gesture of committed
faith.
May 30th will be the
day of Receiving New
Members. We eagerly
look forward to embracing
those joining us as mem-
bers of Lord of Life, and
enjoying a time of fellow-
ship with them in a recep-
tion between services.
In all these events
coming this month and
through the Summer, we
pray God’s continued
blessing on our church and
its members. May you
walk in the peace of the
Lord, ever looking forward
to the new ways God
reveals His grace to us!

KINDRED SISTERS NEWS
Tuesday, May 4 … Kindred Sisters Meet at LOLLC
early in the morning, as we will leave at 10:00 am
to carpool to Zilker Botanical Gardens. We are
looking forward to a spectacular day to tour the
gardens with lunch following … Shady Grove
seems to be the choice.
Kindred Sisters offers Christian fellowship and support to all ladies and friends of Lord of
Life. Please join us whenever you are able to do so. At our April 6 gathering, we assem-
bled 50 Health Kits for Lutheran World Relief. (See pictures in Café) YEAH … we met
our goal of 50 kits, thanks to our LOLLC family’s contributions. THANK YOU.
We were most fortunate to have a visitor helping us too. Marge Kretschmar’s sister-in-
Law, Laura Dube was with us. She spoke to us about their work with Mennonite Relief
Sale in Fairview, MI.
Laura and her husband, Carl, for five years now, have gone to Cameron, LA for four
months. They leave Michigan in November and return in April. They have built twenty
houses in Cameron with the help of hundreds of volunteers from all over Canada and USA.
They are very committed and do a tremendous job and service.
Reminders: Save Stamps … Hostess/Co-Hostess Sign-Up Sheet is on Kindred Sisters’
Board in Café – Please sign up accordingly.

Spirit, we have the power we need to live as followers of Jesus. We have the
power to desire to live as followers of Jesus. We have the power to share the
joy of living as a follower of Jesus.
So, are you feeling a little run down post Easter? Have the world’s dilem-
mas and life’s concerns zapped your energy level, and do you feel you’re run-
ning on empty? Coffee may give you a spark to wake up, but energy for life –
you need an infusion of the Holy Spirit. He is our power of God’s presence in
our lives, in our church, in our community, in our world. He’s the third rail in
our lives, not just to keep us running, but for us to have abundant life.
And he’s here for the asking. I know it sounds to simple, to easy, but it’s
not. We begin by asking for his power and presence in our lives, and then we
trust in his presence and the power of God that he brings.
A word of caution, if you do, you will experience remarkable things that
you can’t control.
Jesus say, “I tell you the truth, whoever believes in me will do the same
things that I do. Those who believe will do even greater
things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

MEMORY GARDEN
The LOL Memory Garden is progressing quite nicely.
We have planted lots of lantana & in the window boxes
at the head of the cross there are dusty miller, zinnias,
and geraniums with rosemary planted at either side of
the window boxes. Dennis and Gloria Frederich put a
coat of spar urethane varnish on the wooden cross which
will hopefully help waterproof it. The Memory Garden
sign will hopefully be hung soon as well as the placement
of solar lights. We are in need of some donations - they
do not have to be new - they are: a stone birdbath and
either 12"x12" or 18"x18" stepping stones.
Please visit the garden at your convenience it is be-
side the Junior High Sunday School Room. It was quite
beautiful watching the butterflies in the wildflowers the
day we were working. A peaceful place to just sit qui-
etly and praise God!
Blessings ~ Rea, Donna, Gloria and Marilee ~
