November 14, 1998  —   Louisville quarterback Chris Redmanrecorded the highest quarterback rating for a game with at least 50attempts in NCAA history. Redman connected on 44-of-56 passesfor 592 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. His 199.2rating led the Cardinals to a 63-45 win over East Carolina inGreenville, N.C. Redman's 592 passing yards and six touchdownsremain Louisville single-game records.

November 15, 1940  —   Riding an 18-game winning streak buttrailing 3-0 with one minute to play, No. 2 Cornell marched to

Dartmouth's six-yard line. After an incomplete pass on fourth down,instead of turning the ball back to Dartmouth, officials awardedCornell another down. On the ensuing play, Cornell quarterback "Pop" Scholl threw a touchdown pass, initially giving Cornell the win.However, after a review of the game tape, the officials realized theirerror. Cornell President Edmund E. Day, athletics director Jim Lynahand College Football Hall of Fame coach Carl Snavely sent a telegramto Hanover, NH, offering to concede the game. Dartmouth acceptedand officially recorded a 3-0 win.

November 17, 1956  —    Jim Brown set a then-NCAA record whenhe scored 43 points in leading No. 9 Syracuse to a 61-7 win overFordham in Syracuse, NY. Brown rushed for six touchdowns on 22carries for 197 yards and also kicked seven extra points.

November 19, 1966  —   In what was described as the "Game of theCentury," No. 2 Michigan State played No. 1 Notre Dame to a 10-10tie in East Lansing, Mich. Trailing 7-0 in the second quarter, NotreDame linebacker and future College Football Hall of Famer Jim Lynchintercepted a Spartan pass but lost the ball on a hit by Michigan Staterunning back Clinton Jones. Michigan State recovered and converteda 47-yard Dick Kenney field goal to take a 10-0 lead. Late in the thirdquarter with the Spartans ahead 10-7, Michigan State forced andrecovered a Fighting Irish fumble, but the play was nullified whenfuture College Football Hall of Famer Bubba Smith jumped into theneutral zone before the snap. Notre Dame stayed ahead of MichiganState in the Associated Press poll and later claimed the AP NationalChampionship.

Both teams have struggled on offensethis season, winning instead with strong defense.

Ending the nation's longest home win streak by coming from behind in Boise in the final two minutes earned the

TCU Horned Frogs (8-2) the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week for games played the weekend of 

Nov. 12. Quarterback Casey Pachall connected on 24-of-37 passes for a career-best 473 yards and five touchdowns

to lead the Horned Frogs past Boise State, including scores of 75, 74 and 69

yards in the first half. The sophomore fired a 25-yard touchdown pass to a

leaping Brandon Carter in the end zone with 1:05 remaining to pull TCU

within 35-34. Head coach Gary Patterson then opted to put the game in

Pachall's hands and go for the lead. It worked, as Pachall tossed a short pass

to Josh Boyce, who fought his way into the end zone to put TCU up 36-35.

The Horned Frogs survived a missed field goal as time expired.
