• There is need for paradigm change in businesses and economy as well.
• Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with one of the largestpopulations of youth in the world, comprising 33 million youths. Withunemployment rate at 33.5%
• There is a huge skills gap with 82 Vocational training centers and 119technical colleges in Nigeria.
• The mismatch between the need of industries (demand side) and skillsbeing reeled out from the vocational training centers and institutions(supply side) must be urgently sorted out.
• Mainstreaming and updating techniques with companies and trainingcenters using best practices in the skills development space of the future.
Dual Vocational training (DVT): Post Crisis SkillsDevelopment systems. (Introduction)
Dual Systems & Possible Virtual Approaches toE-learning
• Theoretical Knowledge can now be passed on virtually through the differentplatforms available.
• Practical knowledge can also be possible through Virtual technology, which isbeing used across industries and no doubt holds great promise in vocationaleducation.
• Some vocational education trade schools are trying to change the status quo byusing virtual reality (VR) technology tools to attract new students.
• VR technology makes viewers feel as if they are present in a variety ofworkplace scenarios which makes them emerge with a better understanding ofthe situation being explained.
• VR based learning is equally useful for educators in the vocational educationspace, instructors who utilize VR receive instantaneous feedback on theirstudents’ performance.
Benefits:• Students can get hands on learning experience without being there present• Students get a taste of the techniques they’ll later demonstrate, while still
learning underlying theories.• There is improved engagement increases the likelihood of students retaining
essential information.
The Nigerian Flavor
• The Dual Vocational Training program was then developed and implemented in2012, it focused on improving the quality of vocational training provided byNigerian companies, and by theoretical-classroom teaching combined withpractical training a balanced knowledge and understanding of the intended skillwas achieved.
• This “Pilot Phase” brought to light the skills gap in the country and blazed a trailfor the identification of the need for qualified skills set and actively workingthrough policies and awareness to bridge this gap.
• German Dual Vocational Training project implemented in Lagos, Abuja and OgunState during its first and second phase from 2012-2018
• A classical example of the progress of the pilot phase:
• The new Bill passed into law in Ogun State Nigeria, a technical and vocationaleducation amendment bill 2019.
• DVT project had a positive impact in Ogun state, and hopefully a ripple effect willbe felt in the whole nation at large.

How to Bridge the Skills Gap
In Nigeria, the working population makes up for a large part of the general populationand they lack the basic skills required to get quality jobs, leaving them unable toachieve their full productive potential and limiting economic investment and growth
In order to mainstream technical skills there must be;• Better support young people to transition into employment• Develop technical skills, and employment and entrepreneurial skills• Better match skills development to industry demand• Train and assess for competency• Increase access and cost-effectiveness to meet the growing demand• Support lifelong learning
The CC Skills development exists to Mitigate problems of skills development/Trainingin post crisis period, which can be economic, pandemic or otherwise Our Main Goal IsTo Create A Culture Of Excellence In Nigeria With Our Programs like the;
• Skill Expert Program• Dual Vocational Training Program• Solar Technicians Apprenticeship• Workshops• Webinars
