Multi-jurisdictional data sharing increases offi cer safety, improves agency productivity, and creates strong alliances with regional

agencies in your state. InSight enables you to build interoperability by linking with other agencies’ databases in real time. Multiple

participating agencies, including those using disparate software systems, can connect databases by using a Spillman InSight broker.

This model allows each agency to search for information outside its jurisdiction and receive critical information. Data is protected

through user-defi ned security privileges and 192-bit encryption – the established standard for the public safety industry.

InSight incorporates the Global Justice XML Data Model. The XML-based framework of appropriate federal specifi cations allows

justice and public safety communities to share information at all levels. Using XML, Spillman provides your agency with the power

to share mission-critical data among other law enforcement agencies regardless of vendor and without costly interfaces.

With Spillman’s InSight system you can collaborate effectively

with other agencies, heighten the value of your investigative leads,

and search information to prevent and solve crimes – all while

maintaining the highest level of data security.

Spillman Agency — When your agency initiates a search

using InSight, the information is sent directly to an InSight broker, or

central message switch. The broker then routes the search request

in real time to other agencies connected to InSight. If one or more

agencies have data matching the search criteria, the information is

returned through the central broker.

Non-Spillman Agency — The InSight system is also tailored

to agencies that do not use Spillman as a primary records package.

Using a browser-based client, disparate agencies can conveniently

make queries and receive responses entirely from the Web-

based application. No client software is required to be installed

or downloaded to a workstation, making InSight easy to use

and maintain. This tool is designed using the latest technologies

including Asynchronous Java and XML (AJAX), allowing the browser

to maintain its seamless look and feel while data is transferred

between the browser and the InSight broker.
