What is sideslip?

Sideslip is an indicator of how fast your tires will wear. High readings

will result in rapid tire wear.

Sideslip measures how straight the wheel is traveling down the road. If

the tire is oriented incorrectly it can push sideways while running down

the road. The more the tire pushes sideways the faster it will wear.

This check takes about 30 seconds and is free of charge.

Why test sideslip?

Tires are expensive. We measure sideslip to quickly determine if your

car is going to rapidly wear tires.

If sideslip is excessive, it can usually be corrected by an alignment.

On some occasions it is necessary to repair worn parts. Either way,

correcting a sideslip problem will result in longer tire life.

Because sideslip is caused by tires scrubbing, high sideslip will also

adversely affect your fuel economy.

What is tested?

Its easy, we simply drive your car forward slowly over measuring

plates. The more the plate is pushed sideways by your tire, the more

sideslip your vehicle is experiencing.

Depending on the equipment used, sideslip results will look like one of

Brake TestingWhy test brakes?

You know that brakes are a vitally important safety component. But do

you always know when something is wrong with your brakes? Normal

driving does not stress the brake system enough for problems toalways be detected. Only during a panic stop will some brake problems

exhibit themselves…and that is too late.Because we feel brakes are important, we test them every time you

visit. Our test lane checks your brakes just like they operate on the

road. We don’t remove the wheels or take anything apart. We apply

your brakes just like you use them on the road, and our computerized

tester does the rest. The brake test takes 30 seconds and costs you

nothing.

What is tested?Every single component. Because the brake test is a dynamic test,

every spring, hose, cylinder, bolt, etcetera that comprises the brake

system is activated. A failure of any part will show up in the brakeresults. The test doesn’t say what part to replace, our techniciansdetermine that, but it does show clearly if there is a problem.The brake test is not predictive, so it will not tell us if your brake pads

or linings are getting thin, so long as they are still working. Liningthickness still needs to be check visually or using built in indicators on

the vehicle, like “squeal” tabs.

What do good brake results look like?

This vehicle has good brake results. All the tire treads are about the

same length on each axle. All arrows are green indicating that balance

is within acceptable limits. Balanced brakes stop faster, under allweather conditions. This vehicle will have good stopping distance.
