PROJECTS

Wyken Soldiers Breakdance Crew get moving!April 9th saw the Wyken Soldiers embark on an adventure that would take them over 300m in forward rolls, completing 1 hour of top rock and completing 100 flips! The challenge was to raise £125 towards the ongoing running of the session which takes place on a Thursday afternoon between 4.30 and 5.30 in Wyken. The young people worked really hard gaining sponsors and managed to raise well over their target by completing all of the challenges they had set themselves in just 1 hour. The crew are also putting on a performance to raise money and for people to come and see what they have been learning and also to get a taste for what a breakdance class is like. The performance will take place on Thursday May 20th at Wken URC from 5-5.30pm with a £1 entry fee. It would be great to see you there!

FUNdraising ideas...In June last year, the team from Coventry YFC decided to put on their sports shoes and take part in the Coventry fun run - a 4 mile run through the streets of Coventry, starting and ending at Memorial Park. We enjoyed it so much that this year we’re doing it again, (on June 27th) and would love to encourage all of our supporters to run with us to help raise vital funds to enable us to continue our work in schools and local communities. Why not visit www.coventryfunrun.co.uk and download a sponsor form today. You know you want to!!

The team here at CYFC are busy getting ready for another amazing week in Oswestry over the summer. It’s always awesome to see so many young people inspired and transformed throughout the week at Coventry Youth Camp, and we’re expecting great things from our time at camp this year.

As always, we’re really keen to partner with local Coventry churches in the running of Youth Camp by encouraging youth leaders to join the team and bring along the youth from their churches.

It is so good to see young people from across this city linking together through Youth Camp and realising that there are a whole world of

young people who share their beliefs and that they aren’t in this alone.

(obviously, it’s also great to see young people worshipping, exploring faith, playing crazy games and getting covered in gunge throughout the week)

If you would like more info about Coventry Youth Camp, do get in touch or download a flyer & booking form from our website.

Coventry Youth Camp 2010

Hoodie Week 2010 In recent years, across the UK, we have been sold an image of young people wearing hoodies and causing trouble for local communities. CYFC believe it’s time to change this image, so we’re encouraging schools & church youth groups to spend one day between July 18th & 25th donning hooded tops and raise tonnes of money for the ongoing work of CYFC. We would love to encourage your church/school to have a “hoody service/day” where members wear hoodies and give to CYFC. If your church / youth group / school is able to join us, get in touch. You can also visit our website for some creative fundraising ideas or a downloadable sponsorship form.
