Every material we offer has its own unique qualities and features. Choosing is just one more way you can get the exact performance and look you want.

Characteristics of Species

Cherry is close-grained with occasional pin knots and variations. It ranges in color from pale yellow to deep reddish brown. Stains reveal its subtle variations, which tend to darken over time.

Duraform® uses foils and coatings bonded to warp-resistant composite wood. Advanced technology provides consistent finishes that are durable, easy to clean and resistant to heat, humidity and fading. Available in Linen, Silk, Stone, and Breeze on coordinating Linen box, Drift on coordinating Harbor box, and Cascade on coordinating Espresso Box.

Oak has a prominent grain. Light colored stains accentuate the color differences in its open and closed grain areas. Darker stains offer a more uniform appearance.

Maple has a fine grain. An exceptionally hard wood, its natural colors range from creamy white to light blonde to dark reddish brown. Darker stains reduce the natural color variations.

Painted finishes combine hardwoods and engineered materials including solid wood, medium density fiberboard (MDF), high density fiberboard (HDF) and similar materials to achieve a product with superior stability, consistency, coverage and durability. Painted door features include:• Joint lines caused by the natural expansion and

contraction of wood• A natural aging process that may change the tone of paint

Determine a temporary dry storage space for when cabinets arrive until you are ready to begin installation (hint: the space a large SUV would occupy is a good reference for space needed)

Upon receipt of your new cabinets, immediately inspect cabinets for order accuracy and damage BEFORE beginning demolition

Find storage for food, appliances and utensils

Pack up anything you won’t need

Designate a place for doing dishes

Your kitchen is taking off! During this exciting and busy time, your kitchen may not always be available for daily use, so microwaves, hotplates and basement refrigerators come in handy. Take a deep breath and enjoy some take-out.

At this stage, you’ll start to see your dream become a reality. Make any final decisions on details like countertops and backsplashes. Talk to your contractor regularly, and review all work to be sure it’s just the way you want it.

Draw a rough floor plan. Choose your cabinets and appliances. Take measurements, and make sure there’s room for all the items you want and need. Refine your plan with a Home Depot kitchen designer or contractor of your choice.
